A bit early?!

Hi ladies-

So, I've been feeling movement from my baby since 15 1/2 weeks. My sister & every other woman that has had a baby that is close to me thinks their pregnancy professionals & said it was probably gas. Well, I know my body & that movement WAS the baby, because I'm now just over 18 weeks & that same movement feeling has amplified. Well, this morning, I was eating my breakfast & had a glass of orange juice (which I know is known to get the baby to move). Well, I saw movement from the OUTSIDE! Like, HUGE movement. It happened twice! The movement was so strong, I jumped, then started to cry Smile

My question is- isn't it a bit early to see the baby move from the OUTSIDE? When was the first time you saw the movement from your belly? Maybe I'm farther along than the doctor thinks? I just need some insight.

Thanks!

How exciting!!!  With my daughter I think it was more around 25ish weeks when I saw external movement but I am sure that it is different for everyone.

Maybe decided to do a complete turn around! jaja

This is what I just posted on the July 2013 board :-)

Did I really feel baby move???? :-)

So I was busy cooking up a storm last night! When I finally finished I went to lay down on the couch & put my feet up. I was laying there for a while & felt something that felt so different.(this is our first so I have no clue what to expect) I told my husband "I think I just felt the baby move!" He jokingly said "it's probably just gas" I told him this was lower & not where I'd been feeling the "gas flutters" I haven't felt anything else since last night & can't wait to see if it happens again. It will soon since I am 16w3d now :-) Getting SO excited!!!!

Are you really thin? If yes, it's feasible that you could see movement on the outside although it would be unusual. I'm thin, this is my third, and I know what I'm looking for, and I still haven't even felt movement on the outside. Everyone is different though.

Also, not to be a naysayer, but movement at this point is low. Below your belly button low. I'm not quite sure how, physically, you'd be able to see "huge" movement from your vantage point?

with my first i started feeling movement right before my 15th week. at my 17th week appt they asked me if i was feeling any movement, and i told her oh yes, and that i could even see it and feel it from the outside... my nurse just laughed and said, "it's too early for that." then she put the doppler on my belly and DD#1 kicked it off. the nurse said, "well... i guess it NOT too early for that."

i have big plans for you, little pumpkin.

Thanks ladies! I haven't felt it again this afternoon- though I'm feeling, what I think, are kicks. There is no doubt in my mind that movement was the baby Smile I'll have to pour a glass of orange juice when my husband comes home from work...I can't wait for him to feel, what he calls, our little peanut Big Smile Have a wonder evening!

I felt movement at about 15 weeks and the Dr brushed me off and said it was gas... I have the same exact feelings now that are stronger and are obviously baby.... So I definately think it is possible!

I've only had one time so far that it was super noticeable from the outside(a few weeks ago)... so maybe baby just had a REALLY strong kick that day.

I'm 18 weeks too! Sometimes I'm not sure if it's round ligament or what, but I do feel waves and have been feeling them for a while now. And sometimes it feels a bit like a stich from running (That I assume IS indeed round ligament).

Question for you, are you showing at all?? I am a bit concerned I am getting too big too soon (this is my first). Or is this just BLOAT still? It's pretty high up but my regular pants (usually a size 2 or 4) are too tight when I sit down so for comfort sake I've just been wearing the maternity pants and so it seems to compliment the whole belly and make it look like a bump! Particularily if I'm wearing something fitting. Don't get me wrong, if I am wearing something baggy no one would know, and infact even with my "bump"  I have been with co-workers who don't know and don't say anything.   Just wondering how you are feeling at 18 week with regards to the changing mid-section. I really feel like my waist is no longer!
