My MIL asked if we have tried having sex during my period, she knows somebody whose aunt's DIL did this and it worked.

Me Dx: Weak Ovulation / Total Thyroid Removal
DH Dx: Mild MFI (borderline all 3), Varicocele
TTC#1 since 5.11
Clomid 50mg + TI = Poor Response
Clomid 100mg + TI (x2) = BFNs
Clomid 100mg+IUI#1 (5.6M Post Wash & 1 Follicle) = BFN
Surprise BFP on 1/20/13 EDD: 9/25/13 It's A Girl!!

TTC since October 2011.
DX with Non-IR PCOS in October 2012.
Missing RIGHT tube due to a prior surgery to remove cyst-zilla (40 lbs!) at age 12.
HSG showed tube was blocked - cleared by dye. DON'T DO CLOMID WITHOUT AN HSG!
Cycle #8 with 50mg Clomid & TI = BFN
Cycle #9 with 50mg Clomid & TI = No response.
Cycle #10 with Clomid 100mg + Ovidrel shot = BFN
Cycles #11 & 12 are unmedicated (No temping/testing/charting)

Yup.  I hear that one thrown around all the time. Makes me want to scream. We have a family member who has been ttc coming up on two years and when she isn't around, the fam always talks about how she needs to just calm down, forget about it, and let nature take it's course. That is where I make my well timed exit to avoid seriously injuring people.

I recently just got this one from my friend who struggled wtih IF for 4 years (and *surprise surprise* got pregnant after they "gave up").

 

ETA: took out the face - it looked like I was upset she got pg - which I'm totally not, I'm SUPER excited for her.  But "grr face" to her saying that to me....of all people I expected her to know better.

TTC #1 since Feb 2012
CD3 & 7DPO b/w = all good!
HSG = right tube blocked, uterine obstruction
DH SA = fantastic!
BFP!!! 3/16/2013, EDD = 11/25/2013

I told a coworker about our IF.  Not necessarily because I wanted her support, but because I hoped that if she new about our IF she would stop complaining to me about how much she hates being pregnant (She's due in April with her second).  This backfired and now she feels like she needs to give me "advice."  Here are two of my favorite pieces of advice:

I should switch to prescription PNVs because they are better and she knew that the RE would put me on prescription PNVs.  First off you dumb@ss, prescription PNVs are not necessarily better than OTC.  Secondly, PNVs don't get you pregnant.

My absolute favorite piece of advice is what she told me when I told her about our IF.  She told me that she knows my husband isn't very religous, but I should go home and pray with him.  Yeah, trust me we have both prayed a lot over the last year +, I think we might give medical intervention a shot.

ETA: a lot is two words.



TTC #1 since August 2011
September 2012: Start IF testing
DH (30): SA is good
Me (30): Slightly low progesterone, hostile CM, and carrier for CF
October 2012: Clomid + IUI #1 w/ OB/GYN = BFN
December 2012 - March 2013: Break while finding the right RE.
April 2013: Unmedicated IUI #2 due to hostile CM = BFN
May 2013: Clomid + Trigger + IUI #3 = BFN
June 2013: Clomid + Trigger + IUI #4

Ha-pretty sure I saw a thread not that long ago where a bumpie suggested this.

My gem is "When you ovulate has nothing to do with getting pregnant".  I laughed at her face, then laughed harder when I realized she was serious.

I hate the "just relax" comment. Also my mom, who knows we are struggling with IF, handed me a greek yogurt and told me it might help me get pregnant since I am a vegetarian and she has decided I must not get enough protein.

Dx: PCOS & mild hypothyroidism (me) & MFI
2 cycles Femara + trigger = BFN/no response. 2 cycles Clomid + trigger = BFN
IUI # 1 = BFN
Repeat SA - low motility & morphology w/ 99% bound by antisperm antibodies
Recommendation: IVF w/ICSI

My friend who was ttgp said that having sex at your parents, especially if their bedroom in next to yours, will get you KU. I assumed she was kidding and didn't think she'd actually try it...

From my mom, a week before my last doctor's appointment: "The day I went in to start fertility treatments I found out I was pregnant with you. Maybe you'll be pregnant by the time you have your next doctor's appointment." Totally...but I'd have to actually ovulate for that to happen.

I've also heard: Go on vacation to Vegas, that is when we found out we were pregnant.

DH suggested I quit charting because I get too anxious about TTC - that I need to relax for it to happen.  Does he have any idea how anxious I'd be if I didn't temp?

My mother told me I'd have no problem getting pregnant since she got pregnant on her first try.

After telling her that we had actually been trying for a year, she said that maybe we weren't REALLY trying.

...and that's why I didn't want to tell her we were TTC.
