TFAS ladies - HELLPS syndrome?

Any other ladies out there have the HELLPS syndrome with a previous pregnancy? I didn't know what I had till the very end when I went in to L&D 6 days post due date with chest pains. I ended up having to have an emergency c/s but was put all the way under and when I woke had to be taken down to the ICU for a transfusion.

I just am a little nervous this go around and my OB siad that theres a 30% chance of getting it again.

Anyone else in this predicament?

I didn't have HELLPS syndrome, so I'm not quite in the same place as you, but I did have pre-e and was hospitalized at 34 weeks and delivered at 36. I'm not familiar enough with HELLP syndrome to know how quickly it develops, but in my case, I'm expecting to be monitored more closely/frequently if needed. Maybe, because your OB is familiar with your case, they will be more proactive in your care and things won't be as serious/dangerous when it comes time to deliver. Best of luck to you!

Thank you for writing back. I think Pre-E is similar and yes I will be monitered more closely this next pregnancy. It was just so scary that I'm a lottle nervious about it.

Glad to hear everything worked out for you too!

I had severe pre-e but not HELLP and delivered DD at 35 weeks after induction.  I think HELLP is a variation of pre-e and my midwives/practice OBs told me that the likelihood I would have pre-e again was much lower with subsequent pregnancies.  It is still possible but not as likely.  I am not sure if this is the case with HELLP.  I would imagine that you will be immediately coded as high risk when you call to make your first OB appointment.  I was red-flagged when I was pregnant in June but that pregnancy ended in a miscarriage.
