Implantation Bleeding - My Story

My son is 20 months old, and my husband and I decided to start TTC earlier this mongh. About four days before the expected arrival date of AF, I had light bleeding that I thought was the start of my period. I had some implantation bleeding with my son, so I thought it was possible that's what I was experiencing again, but it was a little heavier this time. So, as most of us do, I scoured the internet for information. There are so many different descriptions of implantation bleeding on the internet, but most resources describe it as just a few dark or very light spots. Also, so many woman that post questions about their bleeding, wondering if it's implantation bleeding or AF, never provide an update about a BFN or BFP result. Very frustrating! Well, I took a PT last night, and got a BFP!!! So, here's what I have to say to all those hopeful mommies out there. Relax! Everyone is different. I happened to be one of the "less than a third" women that has had implantation bleeding with both pregnancies. Additionally, it's been different each time. Although my bleeding this time started a few days early and was mostly dark brown, there was some red as well, and it was definitely more than a few spots for two days. Basically, I wore a light tampon, and it covered about 3/4 of it each day. The sign for me that it wasn't AF was that it stopped on the day AF should have arrived. Sorry if this is TMI, but I hope it will help a few women searching for answers and looking for hope. Good luck!

Same thing happened to me.  I had implantation bleeding during the week I was supposed to get my period.  It was lighter and didn't last as long, but I honestly thought it was my period.  Aside from that, something felt off with my body... so I ended up taking a PT the following week.  And sure enough, BFP!

Yup! I had implantation bleeding with both of my pregnancies (lost the first at 8 weeks, carried my 2nd full term!). My bleeding was light/medium flow for a week before my period was due.

I love that I get IB... it means I get to know a week earlier than normal that I am pregnant! Instead of a 2WW, I have a 1WW! Awesome! lol

Every month we tried, I got implantation bleeding and it even corresponded to the temperature dip but no pregnancy or it was lost before it could even be detected by a HPT.  :-(    The month I finally got a positive was the month I stopped having the implantation bleeding (but still the implantation dip).

When we first started trying I all of a sudden started spotting before my period. So, never having had spotting before, I thought it was implantation bleeding. It happened every month after that. It turns out I had some minor issues with my progesterone levels and started taking a B6 complex vitamin to help. It worked wonders except this last cycle it happened again at 6DPO. It was the pre-period spotting - light brown, not very much, not even close to enough to fill a panty liner. I tested on 8DPO and got my BFP. The spotting lasted 3 days. So, no, it wasn't the light spot here and there that had been described. It was so confusing because it wasn't all that much different than the spotting before my period.

I am lurking from the TTGP board,  I am still waiting on AF. I had spotting that lasted 5 days it was  6 days after my positive OPK, it has now been 15 days since my positive OPK and still BFN :( I'm hoping I one or the other soon ....
