IVF meds . . . .lost? stolen? UPDATE: FOUND!

Fedex claims they delivered them Tuesday and they definitely did NOT. $6k worth of meds. .  just gone. I was here all day, the doorbell never rang, the dogs never barked (they always do when someone walks up to the front door even if they don't ring) and I checked 3 or 4 times during the day for the box.

My RE called in an Rx for the estrace patch at a local pharmacy and she said she has ganirelix in the office she can lend me until I get new meds.

The pharmacy is on with Fedex, I think trying to file a claim with them to get the cost covered.

What a freakin' nightmare. Not how I wanted to start out my first cycle.

UPDATE: I called fedex and they said the notes from the driver said the package was left with my neighbor. I went over there and sure enough, the box was in her living room.

She just hadn't gotten around to stopping by to drop it off. I'm reliefed they were found but a bit worried because the gonal-f was supossed to be refrigerated and it has been out for 2 days. I hope it's ok. I'll probably call the pharmacy and ask them.

 I guess if you want to get sh!t done, you have to do it yourdamnself.

OMG OMG OMG I would get on the phone with FedEx now and find out something. Did the pharmacy shipping them have any insurance on it? Something has to be able to be done. Im am so so sorry. I hope you get this all straightend out.

That's insane! My pharmacies always insisted on a signature before the meds could be released from the delivery guy.  Does your pharmacy do this, and if so, can you see who supposedly signed for them?  Something's just not right here.

I am so sorry for you! What an horrible thing to happen! I seriously hope that this is all a big misunderstanding and your meds will show up safe and sound. I can't imagine how you're feeling... Knowing myself I would be lashing out at FedEx big time!

Argh! How upsetting! Thank goodness you can get the ganirelix and estrace now. FX that everything gets worked out quickly and they can overnight you a new batch. Ridiculous!

Wow, I am so sorry!  My first IVF meds are being delivered Saturday and I thought what a hassle to have to wait home for them to sign the form...Hopefully they can get you new meds quickly!

How horrible. I don't understand either why the pharmacy and/or FedEx would not require a signature on this??

Married and TTC since November 2010 SA Normal, HSG Normal, B/W Normal = Unexplained IF
5 Failed IUI's Moving onto IVF, Stims Start 10/27, ER 11/5=27 eggs!, 23 mature, 1 Fertilized WTF?? Rescue ICSI on 12 and we had 3 more fertilize. Transfered 2 on 11/9. Beta on 11/23.

That is awful! I am so sorry. I have always had to sign for my meds, I would be very surprised if they did not require a signature. Have you called FedEx? If you have a tracking number you might be able to find out who (if anyone) signed for your package.

That's a load of crap and I wouldn't be taking no for an answer. Fedex and the pharmacy better fix it, and quickly.
TTC on and off since April 2007. IUI#1 (50mg Clomid + Trigger) 3/14. BFP 3/25 at 11dpo. No heartbeat at 8 weeks on 4/26, D&C 4/27. IUI #2 7/22 (50mg Clomid +Trigger)= CP. IUI #3 8/16 = BFN. IUI#4 9/14= BFN. IVF#1 started 10/31; cancelled 11/15. New clinic; 1st visit 12/26. IVF #1 (take 2) cancelled. IVF#1 (take 3)Feb. 2013! 2/9/13 ER = 25 eggs. 24 M/22F. 5dt (SET)2/14. 2/25= BFP! Omg how frustrating! Mine also requires a signature like the pp said. I'd be a little concerned about the meds that need to be refrigerated! Are they lying in a FedEx truck somewhere? I'm so sorry you are dealing with this

I'm glad the meds were found, but after re-reading your post, I am confused.  If you saw tracking info indicating your meds were delivered Tuesday, why did you wait until today to follow-up?  Or am I missing something?

They told me over the phone they would be there Tuesday, but I didn't get a tracking number, nothing showed up Tuesday, I figured maybe it was just late. Wednesday I waited until 5ish when the fedex guy usually shows up, nothing, so I called the pharmacy first thing this morning and they gave me the tracking number. :-/

According to my CVS medication storage chart before the first use Gonal -f Pen is good for up to 3 months at room temp or until exp, which ever comes first. I would double ck but I think your meds will be ok. Big Smile

Me (37) DH (39); Finally correctly diagnosed with DOR in 2012; Started TTC 2009; RE 2009/2010- RE cycle #1 clomid+ ovidrel + TI = BFN; RE cycle #2 clomid + ovidrel + TI=BFN; RE cycle #3 femara + ovidrel + IUI= BFN; RE cycle #4 75iu follistim + ovidrel + IUI= BFN; RE cycle #5 150iu follistim + ovidrel + IUI = BFN ; Took a break and had Weight loss surgery in 2011, back to new RE in 2012 ; AMH 0.43 IVF #1 /ICSI and AH; MDL protocol - ER 2/11 5R, 3M, 2F Three day transfer of 8 cell grade 3 and 8 cell grade 2 embryos. BFN. RPL testing shows homo MTHFR and hetero PAI-1. IVF #2 antagonist-ER 5/14 8R 6M 5F. Three day transfer of 3 embies. 6 cell grade 3, 4 cell grade 2, 5 cell grade 3. Hoping and praying.
