Thanks.

You probably won't get any answers because bumpers are considered a big no no due to the SIDS risk.

I made my own sheets for the crib with fabric from Hawthorne threads.

I made our bumper to use when she is older and I think I bought 4 yards of fabric. I used a pattern by Simplicity.

I have made crib bedding twice and bumpers are HARD. With one set I gave up and bought the bumper. With the other it stayed up about 3 months and then I got sick of adjusting it. I sew a lot and it is not something I would attempt without a pattern--the pattern will give you fabric yardage.

This time, I am skipping the bumper as they are not at all necessary.

I had a bumper that I didn't like the pattern on so I just covered it with fabric. I bought another recently at a consignment sale to do the same thing with next time, it was 5! So after getting the bumper, I measured it lengthwise and widthwise, doubled those numbers and added a few extra inches to get the measurements for how much fabric to buy. I sewed a tube with it, then put the bumper inside and stitched about every 18 inches down the whole thing to ensure it would not move around in there. I sewed on my own new ties and it fits my crib PERFECTLY. I hope this helps and good luck!
