Baby carrier review?

Any have anything to say about the Beco Gemini baby carrier?  I am a big carrier--I find it to be really convening and my DD loves it!  I used the Baby Bjorn until she was about 8 months...but then it jsut started to be too much on my lower back. She weighs about 18.5 pounds now and while the Baby Bjorn is supposed to be able to handle weight up to 25 ( I think) it just doesn't work for us anymore.  I decied to go with a transitional one for my second stage...so I can actually carry her on my hip with this one until she is big enough to go on my back...

Anyone have any experience with this carrier?  Would love to hear your thoughts...

I have the Beco Gemini - my son is almost 8 months old, and is about 23lbs - he still fits and likes to be in the carrier. It's incredibly comfortable, and I did a ton of research before purchasing. The support it gives is great, and he always feels 100% secure. :)

I've got friends and a sister with the Beco Gemini and they all love it.  I wore my 3 year old in one once, just to try it out, and it was perfectly comfortable.  I think it is a really good carrier to try.  Also, if you decide that you don't like it, they have a really good resale value if you want to recoup some/most of your costs. (Try the babywearer.com or even craigslist if you want to sell it...or if you want to try to buy one used.)

I have this carrier and love it.  I also did a ton of research before purchasing.  My DD is 10.5 months, about 20lbs, and I could wear her in it all day.  I like that you can use it on your front with baby facing either direction, on your hip, and on your back.  The strap that goes around your waist is pretty thick, much thicker than like a Bjorn, but that is why it's such a good carrier- it distributes weight super effectively to your legs so your back doesn't have to take the brunt of it.  The only con I can think of is that it can get pretty warm if it's hot out, but the bulk is the reason it works so well.

If the only carrier you have used is the Baby Bjorn you are going to LOVE the Beco.  Honestly, I don't know how you were able to wear your LO in the Bjorn until she was 8 months old.  It is just not a very good carrier and you will see the difference once you try the Beco Gemini.

Come visit the attachment parenting board.  I myself have never personally used a beco carrier (I have an Ergo and a Mei Tai) but there are a lot of women on that board who baby wear and would be able to help you.
