QueenBeeMama:I have about an hour commute through the heaviest traffic in the province. I text and f book while driving. I would never do it with the baby in the car, and I wouldn't do it if I were going a proper speed, but while in rush hour, guilty. And I know this makes me an ashole.
Ya I think it does. Your child may be safely out of harms way but what about all the other baby/children travelers out there?!?! Meh guess their lives aren't worth a boring commute.
The way I see it, I am literally completely stopped when doing it. Worst case scenario, the car in front of me moves 3 feet, and it takes me a couple seconds to notice.
The bolded statement contradicts what you just said. It implies you do it when you're moving. Nice back pedaling. That seems to be a theme with people lately. Just own up to how you said it the first time.
Crap - I finally thought of a good UO and it's the wrong day.
Screw it - saying it anyways:
I think anyone that causes an accident, or, god forbid, kills someone while texting and driving should get the same consequences as someone driving drunk. Both cause distracted driving and judgment impairments and both are direct faults of the driver.
At least when someone drunk drives, they tend to keep their eyes on the road. Someone that is texting can take their eyes off the road for 5-10 seconds, which, at 60 miles per hour, means they can travel the length of a football field without looking up.
I would hope this wouldn't be a UO, but apparently in our court system it is. I just watched a special on texting and driving where drivers killed people and only got from community service to thirty days in jail (and, of course, released early). This is a travesty to me.
Again, wrong day. Oh wells. I would have forgotten it by next week.
