exercise-how much?

My daughter is a couple weeks old, I am wondering how much exercise I should do/start with.  I worked out till the week she was born, moderate weight lifting (body pump), walking etc.  Prior to becoming pregnant and into my 2nd tri I was a runner too (5Ks-10Ks), but stopped when it became uncomfortable.  My doc pretty much said resume when you feel ok.  I was wandering what other's experienced with getting back out there, what worked, how much, what was too much?

Listen to your body. Start slow and work your way up. Your body will tell you if you've done too much (bleeding, pain, etc). 2 weeks seems pretty early to me. I didn't start working out again until about 5 weeks (did 30 day shred which can be pretty intense). But I didn't work out much during my pregnancy either, so your body may be more primed to start early than I was.

Did you have any complications? Tearing? C-Section? If you did, I would wait until at least 4-6 weeks.

I was a runner pre-baby and was told to wait until my 6 week check up (had a c-section though). I did do some light walking and elliptical starting at 4 weeks though.

I started back up 5wks post-partum, which was how long it took me to feel like I had enough energy to do something other than sleep during every baby-free moment. This also coincided with my FIL's visit, and he not only took LO for 1-2hrs in the morning to allow me to nap, but 30min in the afternoon to allow me to resume my nightly elliptical routine. I had an uncomplicated delivery other than an episiotomy, and I exercised 25min a day until the night before LO was born.
