Lauren Lark or Lark Lauren

WDYT?

Which order do you like better?

Lark is to honor my grandmother who's maiden name is Larkin.  We are extremely close with her entire extended family.

How are you pronouncing Lauren?  Like, LOOR-en, or Lor-EN?

I like Lauren Lark is if it's LOOR-en and Lark Lauren if it's Lor-EN (like Ralph Lauren).

Honestly, I like the emphasis on the end of the name like in Ralph's LN.  But, it's a spin on Laura, so we'll go with emphasis on the beginning of the name.  LOOR-en.

I like Lauren lark.
The more I think about it the more i like Lark as a fn. I just don't know if I can imagine it being my name.

I know what you mean.  I feel the same way, that's why it's an option, but it could easily fall into the MN spot if we have a change of heart.

If this is the case then I think Lauren Lark is better.  I do like Lark as a FN but Lark Lauren with LOOR-en pronunciation is a little, I don't know...Lois Lane-ish to me, if that makes sense at all.

I agree. I think Lauren Lark sounds more super hero and Lauren Larkin has a nicer flow.

Lauren Lark has a great flow and sounds good. I agree with the PP that Lauren Larkin works really well too. I don't think Lark Lauren sounds good at all, and much prefer Lauren as the fn on top of that.

I actually like Lark Lauren better. Very pretty and unique but not "out-there."  The only Lark I've heard of is Lark Voorhies from Saved By the Bell. lol  Not a bad association and I love the family significance.

Larkin is pretty too.

Lauren Lark.

I'd actually prefer Lauren Larkin, but that's me :-)

My *ONLY* problem with this is that then she'd be identified with a different side of the family...  Like, this isn't my grandmother's LN, so it's not my dad's LN and in turn isn't my maiden name.  So, while I wanted to give a nod in that direction, I don't want to make her part of that family so to speak.  I know this sounds contradictory to what I'm trying to do, but it makes sense in my head...

I'd rather give her my maiden name as a MN than use the full Larkin.

I agree that it sounds good, but that's my reservation on that issue.

I see.  I like using the real name as opposed to something that is just reminiscent of the name, but I see why you chose Lark.  I'm not adverse to Lark in the first name spot, I just like Lauren more!

This. Maybe because I know a girl named Larkin so when I see "Lark" it looks incomplete to me

I would say Lauren Lark - although Lauren and Larkin are so similar, have you considered just using Larkin to honor your grandmother? I can understand if you want to use both (my DD's middle name will be Lauryn for my dad and I do think it's a beautiful name). Just a suggestion - I love family names!

Both options seem a little too comic-booky to me, but I vastly prefer Lark as the FN.
