Stuck DD in a Big Sister shirt and took her over to the grandparents house.
ETA: Der. That was the how. When? Pretty much as soon as we found out. This was a surprise and I was a little over 5 weeks before it dawned on me that my period was late.
I've told my two BFF's, but that's it.
We're waiting until after my first appt and u/s to tell anyone else, per DH's request. I'll be 11 weeks by then. We'll tell our parents first and then do a FB announcement for everyone else.

mrsalishiaaustin:I told a stranger first! Because I was just dying to tell someone (we are first timers)! We also told our BFF couple. We are waiting until our appt on 1/30 to tell our parents and then everyone else at 12 weeks via FB.
i told my parents and sisters right away..no one else not even in laws will know till after 12 weeks...just want to make sure everything is perfect..this is our first and I just want to be careful.
First pregnancy- We told family at 6 weeks. Ended in MC
Second pregnancy- we told family at 6 weeks. Ended in MC.
Third- No one until 12 weeks. Baby Q.
This one- Family at 8 weeks. Students figured it out yesterday.
We told immediate family and very close friends right away. While I was busy doing my victory dance (we were trying for a year to the day exactly when we got the BFP) DH was on the phone calling our families.
One we hear the heart beat at my first appointment we will tell everyone else.
