IVF Petition North Carolina

Hi all! I am 25 years old from North Carolina and before I could even fully start trying for children I was told I was INFERTILE, and would not conceive with out fertility medication. My husband and I are beyond devastated just like so many others we thought this would be easy. I am healthy weight, I exercise 3-4 times a week, I eat right nothing high sugar no sweets except special occasions of course ;). But for some reason my body doesn't want to ovulate. Doctors are relating my infertility to my hypothalamus and say its going to be a long road ahead. I have scoured the internet and these message boards for any sign of hope that I don't have to go as far as IVF but the doctors aren't hopeful. I live in North Carolina as mentioned before and went on to Change.org to make up a petition for North Carolina insurance agencies to cover testing and treatment of infertility. The link is posted below. Please don't hate me for posting this here because I just want change for this infertility is a disease and it may not pass before I have to go through IVF but at least it will help those like me and us in the future!

I just wanted to let you know that my DX is Hypothalamic Amenorrhea (HA), which it sounds like is what your DX could be as well. I did have success twice with IUIs but had to use injectible medications. An IUI cycle with injectibles is more expensive than an IUI cycle with a pill like Clomid, but is still way cheaper than IVF.  I unfortunately, lost both of those pregnancies but neither loss was related to the HA.

Good luck and make sure that you are discussing all options with your RE before just moving straight to IVF. If your RE is unwilling to try or even discuss a cycle or two of IUI, I would seek a second opinion.

Me: 33, Hypothalamic Amenorrhea, DOR (AMH .35), DH: 38, Borderline low morph

Thank you ladies! I hope you both have a lot of success with your next step! I am trying to stay as positive as possible during this time. Trying alot of stress reliefs right now to see if that helps any at all like meditation and yoga. My husband as I like to call the google king haha suggested we try acupuncture so I may add that as well.
