Graco Click Connect 40

We're still have a long time to decide, but I was pretty sure we wanted the Chicco KeyFit 30, but then saw the Graco SnugRide ClickConnect 40 at BRU today. It's an infant seat, but multi-positional so you can extend it for longer legs as baby gets older. Has anyone seen or used this? Any thoughts on it? FTM here, so I'm not sure I'd notice the pros/cons like someone else would.

Here's the linky: http://www.gracobaby.com/Products/Pages/ProductDetails.aspx?ProductId=1839195

Have you tried it in your car? It's a very big seat and needs a lot of front to back space.

The Connect 40 was DH and I first choice, however, when we test it out in my vehicle it did not fit. As PP mentioned, it is very large and needs a lot of space. We ended up going with te Snugride 35.

That's my 1st choice while MH likes the Snugride 35.  We'll have to test it out and see if it fits in our cars.

I'm pretty sure your limited stroller wise with the 40 though....

I just got mine on Friday. It is HUGE. I hate the canopy, because it is almost impossible to move the handle with the canopy up. Maybe that will get better with time? I would definitely try it out, because there is a very good chance that it won't fit. Also, like the pp mentioned, you are VERY limited on stroller choices and prints.

It looks like it could be a pretty nice seat. I had to search to find the height limit, which is 35" (in the comments section of this link).

http://carseatblog.com/18632/graco-snugride-click-connect-40-unboxing/

I have super tall kids, so DD1 was 35" at 18 months. DD2 was around 22 months. It seems like it might actually last most kids up to age 2.

I can't find the actual weight of the seat anywhere. Is it comparable to the Snugride 35?

I found different numbers.  From the link the OP posted, it says 9.35lbs witthout base which I assume (?) means just the seat and with the base it is 19.69 lbs

This is our first choice as well.  It will be going in a Jeep with a fairly large back seat, so I hope it works out for us.  It's the only one I remotely liked in an affordable price range. They seem sturdy and well constructed.  I also really like the Moonstruck decor.  It looked classy and was rather neutral.  Anyhow, we'll see...

That makes more sense. :-)

The infant seat that we bought (Safety 1st OnBoard Air) weighs about 9 lbs, so that's actually comparable.

Thank you all for the tip on it being really big. I have a Forester, so not huge, but also not compact car. I have long legs, though, so the front seats are pretty far back. We'll have to test it out.

We also tried the click connect and didn't fit in my car (2010 Malibu) or DH's ford escape and I thought they were pretty decent sized cars. We have the snugride 35 and even that is kind of tight and can't have the seats leaned back. But depending on your car, just try it out.

I posted pics of this seat in my car on Car Seats for the Littles facebook page. There is no way it is going to be a usable seat for us, unfortunately.
