Dear formula manufacturers...

Stupid random observation:

I keep getting coupons and "personalized checks" for formula from various makers. I'm sure it's because I have registered with baby sites such as this one.

The stupid part?  ALL expire ON my EDD.

Dear formula makers: I exclusively breastfed DD#1.  Plan to again with #2.

HOWEVER, I understand things *might* happen and I *might* need to at least supplement my own milk with formula.

I won't know this though until *AFTER* I deliver.

So...why give me coupons that I can't use then?

End stupid observation.

NBD, of you want some formula for just in case, use the coupons and buy formula with a longer expiration date. If you don't need it donate it or give it to someone who can. Most of the companies will continue to send you checks anyways

I know annoying BUT someone can make good use of the checks!!

I just leave them in the formula aisle at the store :)

Oh they're going to send you so much more sh!t after you give birth. We even got tubs of formula in the mail.

They know how to suck you in and are going to try to do exactly that.

The checks have my name on it.  I'm not going to leave them in the store.

Last time I got a bunch of samples and then I forgot about them until way late and they'd expired.

The samples that came with my "Yay You're Prego" bag at the dr's expired before my EDD so I gave them away already.

I don't plan to buy any formula at all as I had no need of it and I don't even like supporting the formula companies but I'm just sayin'--it's stupid I can't use the coupons during the only time I'd potentially need them.

The formula company that sends me some free formula that doesn't expire before DD even arrives or a coupon with a reasonable expiration date wins in my book, and so far they all are a buncha losers.

You don't like supporting the formula companies? Um ok, you might want to step off your high horse and realize that those formula companies feed all the babies who's mothers can't breast feed like my DD

Glad you were able to successfully breast feed your first but not everyone has the same success

ummmm, formula companies do some terrible, horrible things as well. Like going into third world countries where they don't have clean water and promoting their products to moms who might otherwise bf and don't know any better but opt for the formula because they're being told its superior and then their babies die because the water is toxic. So, ya.... OP has every right not to support formula companies if she chooses.

There has to be at least one ethical formula company out there... right? If you can breastfeed 100% and have no need for formula whatsoever, then great!
