STM who have had both vaginal and c-section deliveries

If any of you STM out there have had both a vaginal delivery and c-section could you please give me the pros and cons of both or what you prefer?

I have only had a vaginal birth, but please take into consideration that a c-section is a pretty invasive surgery. They literally have to remove organs in order to get to the baby and you can be down for weeks. For me the only benefit a c-section would have is to save the life of myself or my baby. Other than that I would never even consider one.

My first birth was a c-section and second was a vbac. I prefer a vaginal birth any day over a c-section. Everyone is different, though. My recovery from my c-section was horrible, recovery from my vbac was so much better, especially with two children to worry about. I felt like I could barely sit up for a few weeks after my c-section. I plan on having a second vbac with this delivery.

I had a c-section and a VBAC. My c-section recovery was easier than most people I know. My VBAC was an incredibly difficult delivery (3 hours of pushing and forceps assistance). Even at that my recovery from the VBAC was a million times easier than recovering from the c-section. I'm hoping against hope for a second successful VBAC because I shudder at the thought of a c-section recovery with two other kids at home.

Obviously if there's a strong reason that it is far safer for me and/or the baby I will go for a c-section without a second thought, but I hope that doesn't happen.

DD was vaginal, so I have never had a c-section.  This baby is still breech - so I am facing that possibility now.  I can say I am hoping and praying that I can avoid the c-section.  With a toddler at home and the driving restrictions with surgery - I want to avoid it at all costs.

I've only had a c/s and am planning a vbac this time. My recovery from the c/s was not bad. I couldn't lay flat at home for a couple weeks and couldn't drive for 2 wks. I stayed on top of my pain meds. I'm planning a vbac so I can pick up my older DD sooner.

This is the reason I ask, my son is Frank Breech right now so if he doesn't turn shortly, I'm facing a scheduled c-section.

I delivered DS vaginally. DD will be coming via c section this Thursday due to being frank breech. I have come to terms with this and it is the safest way to get my child out. Would I have her vaginally if I could, absolutely! I loved every minute of labor and delivery with DS but in life , things don't always go as planned. Hang in there!

I delivered DD via c-section and recovery is definitely rough. It was so hard to walk or even get out of bed. The more you move, the better it is but I definitely wouldn't recommend it. I am delivering this baby via RCS b/c my hospital will only perform vbacs under the best circumstances (i.e. reasoning for c-section the first time was a breech baby, etc). I had my first c-section b/c I failed to progress past 2 cm after 20 hours of active labor on pitocin and breaking my water. I had the option for continuing for 4 more hours but it was unlikely that I would progress any further. My body just wasn't letting her out so I opted for a c-sectio. My OB doesn't believe this time will be any different and there is a higher risk of trying for vbac and failing then a RCS.
