White mouth

So LO was getting blood drawn today and while she was screaming we noticed the roof of her mouth is whitish.  My first thought was thrush, but the rest of her mouth was the normal pink, not even a milk residue on her tongue.  Not patchy, but the paleness of cut off circulation.  Anyone else noticed this?  Should I be worried?

It could be the beginning signs of thrush. I would sterilize all of her binkies and bottle nipples if she uses them, and make sure to clean your own nipples and change pads frequently if you BF. Just to be safe. I would also ask your pediatrician what it could be...but I am guessing thrush.

Yup my baby has that whiteness too. It's not thrush, just normal color or the roof of the mouth.

Same thing happened to us today baby had a shot and I saw white on the roof of his mouth. I thought thrush too. I'm also taking amoxicillin for a sinus infection so it can cause thrush and diarhea in breastfed babies. I'm eating plain yogurt with each pill dose so you may want to try that if you're BF'ing. Also, PP pointed out a good idea I haven't been really doing but making sure to clean breast after feeding. hope alls well.

One way to test is that if it easily rubs off, it is not thrush (if it easily rubs off it is just milk residue).  Good luck - thrush is a b*tch.
