time frame on birth announcements??

We had our lil lady on 1/9/13, is there a window/time frame for birth announcements/when did you send yours out?

I sent mine out when she was like 2 weeks old, I'm not sure what's appropriate but I wanted to do it pretty quickly and I had taken some cute photos so I just went ahead and ordered them.

We sent ours as part of a Christmas card so about 1 month after. I don't know if there is any 'etiquette' on this but I would think within the first 6 weeks or so would be fine!

I got mine out right around T's 2 month birthday. We took photos at 2 1/2 weeks, then had a delay getting them, and then had to order the announcements.

I read somewhere you have up to 6 months. I had mine sent out right before Christmas. DS was born November 6.

We didn't take newborn photos until LO was 4 weeks old. By the time we got the proofs and ordered announcements it was around 6 weeks when they were sent out.

DS was born 11/8/12; we sent out birth announcements along with X'mas cards, around the first week of December.  So i guess ours went out in 4 weeks' time.

E was born 11/15 and I just ordered them.  I was originally going to do christmas card/birth announcements, but was so busy.  He'll be about 11 weeks when they arrive and go out.

I've received birth announcements at the 5 and 6 month mark from people. so if I get them out before 3 months I'll be happy.

We had ours out at about 2months.  I think I've heard up to 6m.
