Riddle me this, sexually expressive mothers?

So, riddle me this? Why is it SO TABOO that a mother or a mother-to-be is sexual and LIKES it? I like sexy get up and even delve a little into the fetish world (nothing gross or violent). I just feel like...esp now that I'm pregnant...that I get pushed to play the quiet church going lady who runs to the PTA and wears khaki pants and mom type blouses.

That's not me. Never has been. It NEVER will be. I enjoy the dark corners of our world, the scary, the unknown, the weird, whatever you want to call it. I have a college degree, I love my unborn child, I'm not going to raise my son to be perverted or a rapist or a sex fiend, I understand and get the difference between a lady on the streets and a freak in the sheets. But, why is it I can't even TALK about fetish boots or a corset or sex positions or ask questions that go a little further than...we only do missionary? It's not fair, and it's an unjust judgement to think that because I won't dress, talk, attend church or do other "matronly" activities that I take my son, family, or friends and less sincere or serious than any other mom would.

I don't think I understand the question. I've never had this issue, with being expected to be the "good girl" or a prude. I mean...I'm pregnant: It happened somehow! lol

So if you are getting this kind of treatment...I'm sorry. Don't feel like you have to be someone else just because you are pregnant or you have a kid.

Just wait until your kid is 2 and repeating all kinds of random shiit, or a little older and telling kids and teachers at school abou tit.  Then you'll understand why people modify their behavior for their children's sake.  If it doesn't bother you, then say and do what you want.

I personally don't think babies, toddlers or young children need to know ANYTHING about sex, much less the specific positions and fetishes of his/her parents.

Who says its taboo... look obviously im sexually active *points to bump* I'm not having sex now because I'm too sick and I miss it like crazy.  I like my sex life with some flavor too. I don't really care what other people think about it becasue my husband and I are consenting adults, our sex life is or business. Your sex life is your business. 

Frankly, I don't want to hear about the details of your freaky flavor whether you are pregnant or not... you are a stranger. There are very few adults whose sex lives I want to know about to any degree of detail. This does not make me a prude.  

I think this is maybe your issue, because I don't get any pressure to be non-sexual becasue I'm pregnant.

Stop telling people your business. They can't judge what they don't know about.

And maybe you know this, maybe you don't.... you're a stranger so I don't know.... but kids should NOT be exposed to sexual behaviors, language, etc. Their minds can't process it and it damages them.

Why on earth are you talking about your sex life with anyone who you're not sleeping with or wanting to sleep with, let alone people who are going to judge you for it? I'm not saying you have to dress like a soccer mom, but it's really no one else's business how you Do It, and you really shouldn't be making it anyone's business by talking about it. Your sex life isn't anything to be ashamed about, but certain things should be kept private. 

You'll probably find a lot of kindred spirits on the Offbeatmama.com website. There are of plenty of women on there who are non-traditional in various ways, including sexuality.

What exactly is your dilemma here?

I don't want to hear about anyone else's sexual activities. Quite frankly, I just don't care what you're into. And my children certainly don't need to know about consensual adult activities that go on privately between my husband and myself. It's called preserving their innocence.

eta: And no, obviously you don't have to wear khaki and go to church now that you are knocked up. I suggest associating with people who are more your speed if this is a reoccurring issue.

Why just this weekend I attempted to have a detailed and frank conversation with the teller at Rite Aid about whether she thinks rechargable AA batteries are suitable for my vibrator, and she looked aghast. I was just concerned about whether the housing on such devices would be able to accomodate the slightly larger size of the rechargeable. Also, would the output of energy be different? Would my trusty battery-operated-boyfriend be as consistently good? By the time I pulled my vibrator out of my bag to see whether the batteries would fit, she had called security.

I just do not understand why people don't appreciate my open expressions of sexuality.
