Poop question

So, we recently had to switch DS to FF. He wasn't gaining any weight BFing, like none, he was still at discharge weight at 2.5 weeks. Anyways, since switching him his poop took a few days to normalize. Now he farts and poops at almost every diaper change, or at least every other. He is gaining weight, on Gerber Goodstart Gentle, and I've started putting in 5 drops on Mylicon into his bottles. How is your FF baby pooping? It seems as if mine poops a lot.

Baby Z is EBF and he pooped almost after every meal until I think 5 or 6 weeks. Now he is at 1 or 2 a day. He is also very gassy and farts a lot, it doesn't seem to bother him much though. Hope that helps.

That happened when we moved DD fully from BF to FF when she was around 2 weeks. She would fart and poop all the time. It took about a week or 2 to normalize and now she rarely farts and poops about 2x a day. Hang in there and it should change it just takes a bit to get them used to the new food.

DD2 is 2 weeks old and poops 4 to 5 times a day. She is formula fed. DD1 was EBF and pooped every diaper change for a few weeks.

Our LO has 1-3 poopy diapers every other to every couple of days, but she farts quite frequently. She has been FF since day 1 on Similac Advance

My pediatrician said it's totally normal to weigh discharge weight at 2 weeks. They lose up to 10% up their weight within the first few days, and as long as they weigh AT LEAST their discharge weight at 2 weeks, that means they are growing properly. That being said, FF babies tend to poop more and have pasty poop, because the formula is harder for their body to digest..

That makes no sense. DS was already 10 percent down from his birthweight. He wasn't gaining anything.

DS was EFF.  He pooped constantly.  But he's been off formula for 5 months and still poops constantly :)

My pedi wanted to see DD at her birth weight (not discharge weight) at two weeks. She was not gaining either so we had to focus on feeding all the time and brought her in for like four weight checks until she started gaining. It was frustrating/disappointing but we got through it. Now she is a chunky monkey! GL OP!

Z is FF and he poops usually 2 to 3 times a day. He's 10 weeks old. He weighed 8lbs 7 oz and was 22in at birth. Discharge weight was 8lbs 2 oz, first week check up was 7lbs 14 oz and then we had to make the 2 week appointment and he was 8lbs 2 oz and then a 3week appointment for weight gain and he was at 9lbs. In the beginning I would pump and supplement with formula since he wouldn't latch.  but we weren't giving him enough formula and we'd let him sleep. After the first weeks appointment, we woke him every two hours and let him eat as much as he wanted of the 2oz ready to feed formulas.  Now as of his 9 week appointment he weighs 13.1lbs and is 25 1/4 inches long. I've heard that FF babies will usually poop once a day and sometimes that's all he does but mostly he poops at least twice a day. It seems the older he gets the less he poops.
