Help

Okay so I need help with my names I've picked. We have a son already his name is Judah Alan and we like using family names for a middle name.
Girl name:
Ellewyn Ferrell my middle name I also saw a post for the name Mara and I love it so that could be an option as well with my middle name
Boy name:
Oliver Rice My FILs last name long story on why crazy MIL didn't give DH his last name so we want that name to carry on even if just for a little bit

Please be honest I'm not sold on the girls name I feel they harder bc a lot of the girl names are so popular and I don't like that

We are pretty much set on Oliver if its a boy. It's the only name we can agree on for a boy lol. I like ellewyn to but I get onto my husband bc he for some reason loves Disney princess names and I was worried that name could fall into that category. I could just be over thinking it. Thank you

It was so easy with my son. I just knew he was a boy we talked about names about week after we got pregnant decided on his name and stuck with it. But this go around I just don't know. Ellewyn isn't too Disney princess though not like Esmeralda like DH wants.

I like Oliver Rice.  Nice.

I kinda hate Ellewyn.  It's all over the place with those letters and a random Y.  What about Elowen?  Legit name, similar pronunciation, lovely sound and more intuitively pronounced.

I like Jackson I also like Liam but its really popular. I wanted Ransom Ferrell for a boy and if we had a girl her middle name would be rice but spelled Ryce but DH hates Ransom. It's my great grandfathers name coupled with his wife's middle name which is where I got my middle name from. But the hubby squashed that name lol.

I could do Elowen I just saw it spelled the other way. It's the same name so spelling isn't an issue for me.

I like Ian and its not too popular. Sophia is from the walking dead and super popular. I like Olivia but its popular as well. I love ransom but the husband makes fun of it and refuses to consider it. I'd pick it over Oliver but its not an option so I can't.

When I see Ellewyn it screams misspelled boys name to me. I have an uncle Elwin.

I agree. I sort of cringed at Ellewyn, it just looks a little...off? There's too much going on in the spelling. But I saw Joy post Elowen and it's growing on me. I actually really like it.

Yeah I can see that. The only thing is the wen seems masculine and the wyn to makes it more feminine. So maybe Elowyn??

I love Oliver. That was our second choice for DS, who is Jude Alan btw. I don't like Ellewyn at all. Sorry.

Judah Alan is our DS. Just found out my mom hates ellewyn. I'm getting mixed reviews on this name. Now I don't know if I should keep it or toss it

Elowen is feminine (http://www.behindthename.com/name/elowen).

However, Bronwen (a Welsh name) can be spelled Bronwen or Bronwyn and both are feminine.  If you insist on changing the spelling to something that you feel in a foreign name is more feminine (which I think is really unnecessary) at least it's not like it's never been done before.

However, I'd leave it as Elowen.

Love Oliver Rice. Great name with significance.

Not a fan of Ellewyn. At all. What about Ellen or Evelyn?
