c-section/tummy tuck?

So I was watching a documentary last night and some of the women were talking about having a c-section and tummy tuck done together... Is this a real thing?? Seems dangerous. Anyone actually do it?

there was a post I believe on the Feb board of a woman who was on her final baby, had a cs and the dr did do a tuck for her to help reduce the scaring.

It's a real thing for those that have the money. As far as I know, and someone correct me if I'm wrong, a tummy tuck can't be billed to your insurance as it would be considered a cosmetic procedure. I suppose it could depend on the insurance because there are some insurance companies that cover circumcision, while others say that is a cosmetic procedure as well.

I'm sure they do it but it doesn't seem all that good of an idea to me.  Why would you want your tummy tuck done before your uterus shrinks back down to a normal size?  Seems like that might make things more painful for healing.  IMO.  My lovely mother has told me many times that when I'm done having kids I should get a tummy tuck.  You mean the 10 lber didn't do nice things to the look of my belly?  Who knew!  lol

The insurance that is offered through my DH's work does cover part of the cost of a tummy tuck after a certain number of csections. However, I wouldn't think a tummy tuck done along with a csection would be as effective as one done after you are healed and have lost the baby weight. One of my good friends had a tummy tuck a few years ago, and her recovery was h*ll compared to my csection recovery. I couldn't imagine trying to recover from that and take care of a newborn at the same time.

I worked with a lady who had a tummy tuck at the same time of her c-section although she had to pay for the tummy tuck herself because insurance did not cover it. From what I was told it was no worse than the c-section itself. She also advised that she just had to be more careful in movement and had to sleep sitting up for a while until she was able to let the incision heal.

I have also read this is becoming very common. It is probably very expensive!
