From what I understand it's basically a jack of all trades, master of none. It's really big and heavy so lugging it with an infant would not be fun. The shell is not particularly tall, so it won't last as long as you would think either RF or FF. And the booster fit isn't great and is outgrown quickly, so you will almost without a doubt need to buy a dedicated booster later.
The size4me is actually one of the best seats for RF on the market and has a tall shell, so it will be great both FF and RF. I would do that over the smartseat any day. The concept of the smartseat is great, but in practice it's not terribly useful.
