PBK Skip Hop Activity Gym

My MIL bought us the PBK edition of the Skip Hop activity gym. There is a mirror on the mat for the baby to look at, but it's just made out of cardboard. The mirror is all scratched because it's just paper. Is this just how they come, or should I return it?

We have the same mat (not the pbk version but style) our mirror has zero scratches after 4 months of daily use. Return that sucker!

I have this activity gym. It should have come with a protective layer of plastic of the mirror. Ours held up well. I just put it away after our LO using it for about 6 months.
