Vaginal aches or gas pains

I am 20 Weeks along. In the last few Weeks, off and on, I have been experiencing aches and stretching like pains in what feels like, the side walls of my vagina. Is this normal, at this point in my pregnancy? Are these considered gas pains, too? Has anyone else experienced this? Please share. Do I need to tell my Doctor?

I've never had gas in my vagina, but there's a first time for everything.

I think you might have your exits mixed up. But it sounds like normal aches and pains to me.

I had a lot of abdominal muscle pain around 20 weeks with DD. I wasn't really showing at all at that point and my OB equated it to round ligament pain.

Oh right, but those don't just randomly happen during pregnancy.  Thank the lord!

Sounds like RLP or lightning crotch or both. Both totally normal.

Please forgive my typos! I'm not as dumb as my iphone would like you to believe :)

I posted something similar yesterday on my month board..except my pain is around my ovary and it lasts for a couple hours at a time.  I haven't experienced much pain in my vagina yet but def on my lower right side- can be very painful.  I called my nurse on that and she said it could be RLP (but said that lasts for a few seconds at a time) and mine is longer- so she said I may need to come in.  This is all so new- it's so hard to determine if things are normal or not when you haven't been through it before.

Thanks for the replies. I am thinking that it may be stretching to prepare my body for when I give birth. I have heard that it could be your ligaments stretching, but I have not heard of RLP or lightning crotch....I will have to look those up. I am a first time Mom to be my first pregnancy ended in a miscarriage...so this is all new to me. Thanks for the advice.

Pubic bone pain? It's the bone loosening and stretching in preparation for labor. Can be extremely painful.

Lightning Crotch sounds like some weird superhero name.

In all seriousness I'm having similar feelings so I may look that up. I know what you're talking about, OP, and you don't have your exits messed up ;

Cuteangel - me too!!! I'm so glad I am not alone! I am 19 weeks. It lasts a few seconds at a time of time. I was wondering what it was cause it felt too low for baby.  At first I was hoping it was baby- I had felt waves last week but now I don't feel much at all :( I keep on wondering what's the deal and I hope I feel something more soon.  Anyway, I think things are just stretching along for us!
