STM: Measuring ahead and delivery

I just had my a/s on Monday at 29 weeks. I know that weight gain and measurements can be way off, but according to them I was measuring a week and a half ahead. They won't be changing my due date, which I'm really happy about because I want as much time as possible to go into labor on my own.

With my first I was measuring right on track the entire time. For those who measured early the first time around did it have any correlation with when you actually delivered?

Yeah for me it was opposite. My son always measured ahead,  in the 90th percentile. Came out in the 40th. My daughter was measuring small but came out in the 50th percentile for her age (she was 3 weeks early). I haven't had an ultrasound since 18 weeks but this one was measuring ahead. It means nothing imo.

My son was 4 days late BTW and measuring big.... They said he was estimated 9+ lbs. Came out at 7, 4.

DD measured right on target during the 1st and 2nd trimester. however, she started measuring 1 week ahead during the 3rd trimester. She was born 5 days early and weighed 9 lbs.

A similar thing happened to me...a week before I delivered DS the US tech told me he was going to be 9+ lbs. and he was 7 lbs. 10 oz...just a tad off.

Like I said, I'm not taking much stock in the estimation. I did go until 42 weeks with my daughter though so a part of me is really hoping that this means I could deliver this baby closer to my due date (even though I get that it doesn't actually work that way).

With DS, I measured two weeks ahead consistently, but I knew that the EDD was two weeks off. They didn't listen to me, telling me that the early fetal u/s is the most accurate. While I generally agree with that, I knew that in my particular case, it was not. When they started talking about scheduling a c-section at my 33 week appointment, I fired that OB and sought a second opinion, who, without even hearing the correct date, said it. I delivered DS the day before his EDD.

I measured ahead with Ds (as many as 4w ahead!) and delivered him 6 days early. They prepped me for a huge monster baby- he was 7lb5oz.  I've been measuring right on track with this LO and I'm "over due"

I measured ahead with DS (2-3 weeks) and am with this one as well. DS was 3 days late.

I had the opposite, but based on fundal height only. DD was about a week and a half behind (it's not a concern until it's 2 weeks either way) and she arrived a week early. On her own accord.

Two days before I went into labor I was sent for a BPP and NST because her heart rate concerned the doctor. The doctor who read the BPP u/s report said she looked like she was going to be a good 8 and a half pounds. She was 6lbs 11oz. Way off.

With DS I was measuring right on track all the way through, was induced at 40 weeks 2 days because of blood pressure.  This time around I'm measuring (fundal height) about 3 weeks ahead since 28 weeks.  Measuring about 12 days ahead by U/S.  Still pregnant at 40 weeks 3 days with no impending signs of labour.  Everyone, from my OB to my Doula thought I was going to go early.  So much for that pipe dream!

I measured ahead at the beginning of my third tri, but am on track now.

ETA that I measured on track at the end with both of my other kids and delivered both in my 39th week. With my first, I was on track the entire time. With my second, I was ahead at the beginning of third tri and then on track by 34 weeks as well. I am 34 weeks with my third now. I don't think it has anything to do with when you go into labor. My DD measured ahead because she was transverse. This baby measured ahead in the beginning because the pregnancy was so close to DD, according to my OB.

Mommy to Seth (4) and Catherine Anne (13 mo.) Excited to welcome a third child in March of 2013!

With DD, I measured 2-3 weeks ahead the entire pregnancy and she was 9 lbs 1 oz two days before her due date. DS's measurements were all over the place. At one point, I even measured six weeks ahead and another time one week behind. He was born on Tuesday (two days before his due date) at 7 lbs 15 oz.

FTM here, and still pregnant, but I have been measuring 2-3 weeks ahead the entire pregnancy, not just at the end and my baby has also been measuring huge.  However, I onlyhave 6 days until my due date (although my first due date passed yesterday) and no signs that she's on her way... SOOO it meant nothing for us!
