Can anyone recommend a clinic?

So, I really didn't do my research before ivf. I just went where a friend recommended and didn't give it much thought. I did check her SART data on that website, but that's it. I really didn't expect to even have to do ivf, much less at least 3 of them.  So, my question is, where are the best clinics? Who has the best success rates? I saw someone post about ccrm in Colorado and am very interested in that. They seem to cater to out of state patients and there rates are great. What I want is the best clinic that offers a reasonable price, and I really want a shared risk program. I think I will leave my current RE just because there is no shared risk option. I'm willing to go anywhere, but I need to do some research on where. Any input would be great. Also, is there great clinics that will just review your records and offer help over the phone for a fee? TIA!

I had a second opinion appointment with CCRM over the phone and Spoke with Dr. Brown. I really liked the clinic and she was great to talk with and was very patient over the phone with me and answered all my questions. They have high success rates, and when I talk to my current RE about them, he had nothing but good things to say about them. The only reason we choose to not go forward with them right now is because they didn't really seem to offer anything different than what my current RE has done, and my current RE was very willing to talk about the protocol they offered and willing to try what we wanted to try from that protocol. It didn't make sens to us to travel out of state for the same type of protocols.

ETA: The initial phone consult with CCRM over the phone didn't cost us anything, but they hadn't gotten our records in time for the consult. But I did go over my history and previous protocol with the RE over the phone.

I'm also going to consult with CCRM. I was supposed to talk to them Friday but I couldn't get my records in time (my fault) so I'm rescheduling. I'm waiting right now to talk to SIRM in St. Louis , they may be worth looking into too. When I'm done talking to them today I can update/PM you and let you know what I think of them?? They seem to be pretty far up there in ranking of fertility clinics too and the consult is free and no records needed ahead of time...just a detailed questionnaire filled out.

** ticker warning **

I was a CC.RM patient (with Dr. Su.rrey, but Dr. Bro.wn did my actual ER and ET due to scheduling).  I absolutely loved them and obviously we got a good result.  However, if you've had several failed IVF cycles, I don't think you'd be eligible for their shared risk program (it's called Premier IVF, they have a website you can check out).  We didn't use the shared risk program for other reasons, I think my low AMH would have made me ineligible anyway.  I'm happy to answer any other questions you have about them though!  Good luck!

TTC #1 7/10, Me (31)- Dx DOR (AMH 0.6); DH (30)- normal
BFP on Cycle #8. Natural M/C at ~8 weeks
IUI #1 and #2 (8/12, 9/12)- 50 mg Clomid + Ovidrel = BFNs
IVF #1 (EPP) 13R/10M/9F, 5DT 1-4AA blast, beta #1-148, beta #2-322, 5 frosties!
3/18/13 - It's a Girl!
4/18/13 - A/S- baby looks perfect, but partial placenta previa

it sounds like it may be a good idea for me at least to get a phone consult with them. Sounds like they would consult with my current RE if needed. Was your protocol suggestion they gave you something completely different that was offered at your current RE?

**Siggy Warning**

We ended up going to a clinic a little closer to home (the next state over) but we really looked into adv.anced fertility in Chicago. They have a shared risk program I wanted in... But with most shared risk programs, you have to qualify. I can't remember now what their restrictions are on that, but their website should explain in better detail. And they do phone consults :)

The clinic we ended up at participated in the Att.ain program. But we didn't end up going that route.

I use Dr. Craig Witz with houston fertility institute. I couldn't ask for a better dr. He is up to date on research and experimental drugs and procedures as well as open to try just about anything to get you to your goal. He has a great bed side manner and you can tell he truly cares. He has never been vague about what he thinks our options are. Dr Griffith I have heard is also great. He is in the same practice just a different location. I used to work for a vet that her and her partner used him and was successful. Both ladies had nothing but great things to say about the practice. I hope this helps.

I'm a CCRM patient. I transferred from another clinic. I liked my old RE but the reputation and stats from CCRM were enough to make me transfer. They did offer my a different protocol (antagonist). I really think that was a good choice for me. I stimmed on a low dose for 10 days. They retrieved 25 eggs, 15 were mature and all 15 fertilized naturally. I transferred 2 on day 5 that were perfect. They froze 3 on day 5 and another 5 on day 6 so I have 8 frozen right now. They were able to prevent OHSS which was a serious concern for me due to previous medicated cycles. Their nurses are SO helpful! I really love the care I've gotten and I'm incredibly happy with the switch.

I made sure they had my records before my consult. I see Dr. Minjarez and she went over every single page of my record with me. She explained everything to me and even told me how she would like to proceed / potential protocol (which we ended up using exactly). You do kind of bounce around a lot between nurses but that didn't bother me since they all seemed to know the details of my case. If you have any questions feel free to ask me anything. If it's personal I may respond via PM but otherwise I'll post responses here Big Smile

ETA: I feel like they didn't sugar coat anything like another clinic I consulted with. Sugar coating just kind of pisses me off. I drove 2 hours each way to go to CCRM and honestly I would have flown half way across the country for the care and monitoring they gave me. It was great.

TTC #1 for Dh, #2 for me. HSG clear. Low AMH and endo. Multiple Clomid w/TI cycles - all BFNs. 2 IUIs with Clomid and 1 with Femara - more BFNs. IVF#1 25R, 15M, 15F. 5DT of two perfect 4AA blasts! Positive HPT at 5dp5dt. Beta #1 6dp5dt - 72. Beta #2 8dp5dt - 285. Beta #3 10dp5dt - 793. Both babies have strong beautiful heartbeats! Baby B miscarried at 7 weeks. Baby A is holding on through miscarrying her twin, sub-chorionic hematoma, and complete placenta previa. Stick, baby, stick!

Just want to say that CC.RM has free consults depending on what state you're in. Just ask when you have an email or phonecall. The cost for the consult isn't too much - but don't expect to get a protocol or med description in your consult.

Also want to echo the non-sugar coating element of CC.RM's personality. They will not just tell you what you want to hear.

We're using them for IVF#4 because, although we received very good and competent care at our best local clinic, our issues require some treatments that  our local clinic does not offer.

They are also certain to look under every single rock, in every nook and cranny to find out what your issues are before proceeding into any treatment. Because of this, patience will need to be a big part of your plan initially.

And their lab is world reknown.

GL!

i just looked at their website and am very interested. Their multiple cycle plan sounds great and it would only be a 5 or so hour drive. Thanks so much!

If you are willing to look into Chicgoland area, I would happily recommend my dr. He is Dr. Charles E Miller in Naperville, IL (burb of chicago). According to the IVF sucuess rates published for 2010, he is third most successful in the state. I have been very happy with his agressiveness while still doing what we wanted. Although we are not pregnant yet, we are just starting our first IVF cycle, so I am still very hopeful.

GL!!

I'm getting my 2nd opinion from him.....I've had two recommendations from mothers of IVF twins that went to him so he's on my list to talk to. Although I'm not planning to cycle until Summer at earliest, otherwise maybe I'd see you around, lol  :)
