"showing off" in the ultrasound?

Yesterday we discovered that we are having a son at our second trimester sonogram!

The tech said something weird, maybe she was just trying to be funny, but basically she said it seemed like our son was showing off his manhood. Is this just something ultrasound techs say?

Either way, it feels like naming a boy is going to be harder than naming a girl!

I think she was just trying  to be funny, hes proud of his little junk and wants everyone to see it. We couldnt tell what we were having at our anatomy scan but i agree, we are having trouble coming up with a boys name. Be happy he showed you his stuff, we would have loved to see something! Good luck deciding on a name and check out the baby names board.

Seems like she was being funny.  We are team green and are trying to make name lists for both genders.  I agree that it is harder to find a boy's name than a girl's name.

They told me my daughter was showing off years ago when I had her, she was pretty much mooning us. We are having more trouble with girl names we kind of like Gabriella but both agree on William James for boy!! Not Brian Urlacher like my husband and his cousin joking think is great name!

It's just something they say. All three of mine have had their legs spread as wide as possible, so there's never been any question of gender and we've always heard the tech say something similar.

Congratulations! And good luck on the name. We always went with a name we loved and then found a family connection - it worked well (although we were running out of boys names, so we were glad this one was a girl because we had a name all ready lol!).

My tech said the same thing. She said he just kept flashing it to her the entire time and than asked us who he gets it from. I thought it was pretty funny.

We saw our little guy yesterday too on u/s and the tech said the same thing! "He is showing off! He is proud of what he has!" I cracked up!

Married my BEST FRIEND on December 1, 2007. Started TTC in March 2008. Found out we were expecting our first child in October 2008 - but had a m/c in December 2008 - resulting in a d&e. Met with a RE in May 2009 and set a plan - but conceived unexpectedly on our own! Our precious little Sophia was born on February 9, 2010! Lilypie Third Birthday tickers
