baby shower

Hi ladies, I post on the 3TC board but my best friend has a baby shower next week and I am trying to figure out what to get her. What is something that has been an absolute MUST in the first few months that you didn't know to register for and wish you had? thank you for any responses!

Age: Me 26, DH 27, Married Oct. 10, 2009 ,TTC since March 2012
Diagnosis: Annovulatory
Nov&Dec-Provera because of no period after 35+ days
First RE appt 1/10/2013
Tests: TSH (normal), Prolactin (normal), SA (very slightly abnormal- RE not concerned)
Hysteroscopy (normal) and PCOS labs (negative/normal) 1/15/2013
2/1/13- HPT BFP but Beta Hcg was negative
4/4/13: Started Femara 5mg + Trigger + IUI#1= BFN
5/9/13- start Femara 7.5mg + Trigger + IUI#2= ???

I love those multi-use pads - great to put on the changing table.  Also, if she's going to BF, Motherlove nipple cream and Bamboobies nursing pads.

I love Aden and Anais blankets. I have the ones from Target, but splurged for some bamboo ones. The are the softest blankets and awesome for swaddling.

On a more serious note, burp cloths. We love the kinds that are made out of the old-school cloth diaper material (sorry I'm not more specific!) and the aforementioned Aden and Anais. The Aden and Anais one is the one I have in the diaper bag, since they can be a bib or a burp cloth, and they're cute, cut well for your shoulder, and absorb decently.

I second the aden and anais cloths. I also really like the zip up sleep sacks. If you decide to get any clothes, let me just recommend getting outfits with zippers rather than snaps-SO much easier.

The Aden and Anais blankets are great as well as a sound machine.  Someone at my shower got me infant pain reliever, gas drops and vitamin D since I am breastfeeding.  These were awesome to have already when LO needed them...not something I thought about putting on my registry at all.

Swaddle Me instead of the traditional swaddle blankets.  I just spent the night from hell trying to get the swaddle just right for DD ... she kept breaking out of it and we got ZERO sleep last night!  Its not so easy to swaddle when you're half asleep!!!!  

I also agree with the clothes with zippers instead of snaps!

And if she is nursing, then she will need those pads to put in the bra too.

That's so funny that you say that because I would choose snaps over zippers any day. I hated having to uncover DDs whole body to change her diaper.

Another vote for the Miracle blanket, it's like $32 so lots of people don't buy them for themselves - I've had mine on hand since before he was born and use it every night. He never escapes his swaddle, and I don't have to put any effort into getting the swaddle just right.
