Having DD today!

Well in just a few hours I will be checking in to have our DD! And I still do not have a name that has just wowed me. Im beginning to get nervous. With DS we went with a short list and were able to name him about 24 hours after he was born. Im worried that is not going to happen with DD. I feel like every day the list should be getting shorter and some how I continue to add names. We like un- common names, but legit names.

DH's favorites are:

Violet

Skye

Hazel

Danica

Annika

 

 My favorites are:

Harper

Parker

Waverly  

Livia

Whitney 

Maisie- when you say this name... does the "s" make a "z" sound. This is how I pronounce it. Is this correct?

 

Any suggestions? Thoughts? Please :)

My impressions:
Violet, I like
Hazel is okay
Maisie, which I do say with a z sounds like a nn.
Livia really sounds like just a nn
I hateeee Parker on a girl, and really dislike Harper as well.
Whitney isn't bad, but it seems a little dated.
Skye sounds like you're a teen mom.
Waverly doesn't sound like a name to me.
Annika I love the name but not the spelling. I like it spelled Anika
Danica is growing on me the more I say it, but I don't know why.

Violet is my favorite on the list.

Hazel and Annika are ok, as is Livia, though it does sound really similar to Olivia and I think you'd have to correct that constantly. Maisie (which you are pronouncing correctly) sounds like a nickname but is still an ok name. Whitney just feels 80s, but I guess it is alright.

I've never been a fan of Danica. Don't like Harper, Parker, or Waverly at all. They all sound very masculine and more like a last name than a first. Skye is very hippie to me.

Waverly: Did you get these names from the Disney Channel lol? Harper is the friend, and they live at Waverly Place... It doesn't even sound like a real name....sorry...

Whitney: I know a little 4 year old girl named Whitney. She's a little brat.

I really like Violet, Hazel and Annika.  Danica is all right.

Skye screams 80s soap opera, as do Waverly, Livia and Whitney.

Maisie I like but I don't think it'll work on an adult.

Harper I don't mind but it's really trendy.

Parker I hate enough on a boy. I can't fathom it on a girl.

Really like Whitney, beautiful name and not too common.  I also like Waverly, but I think the novelty could wear off and then it could just be weird.

I like Violet because is sounds the prettiest out of all of them. I was in the same boat as you about not having a name ready. Finally DH and I looked at her and said each name .... we were then able to seriously narrow down our choices. Of course a few weeks later I second guessed but when I looked at her the other day I knew she was a Rebecca!

On your DH's list I like Danica, and on your list I like Waverly on yours.

 

When I say Maisie, it makes the Z sound.  I think this name is OK, but it seems more of a nickname to me.

I think Annika or Danica work best with your DS's name. Violet is also nice.

I dislike Parker on a girl. Harper and Waverly sound ditzy to me.

First of all...GL & CONGRATULATIONS!!! When I first read your title I thought I was on the 3rd tri board by accident LOL...This is such an exciting time!

I wouldn't worry about a name at this point. I'm sure when you meet her you'll know.
