Sibling name

We like to use family names, and one of the names I just fell in love with is Charlotte.  My son's name is Charles, is it too close?  I think we would mostly call her Lottie (this is all assuming baby #2 is a girl), and he's Charlie.

I don't know...they are pretty darn close! I'd only suggest using it if you absolutely LOVE it and can't imagine anything else for your little lady!

Yes, I think it is too close. It's like John and Jane or George and Georgia.

Thanks for the input ladies!

Its still pretty early on, so I have plenty of time to find something different and fall in love with it.  My mom didn't think it was too similar, but I was a bit worried and I figured some outside opinions would help settle it in my mind.

Sorry-- it's way too close.  It's the masculine and feminine versions of the same name basically.

I have a cousin who named her kids Michael and Mikayla.  I have always thought it was really odd because they are the SAME NAME, but nobody else has ever said anything.  I think Charles and Charlotte is the same thing.  They would potentially have the same nick name and that would be just difficult.

I believe Charlotte is the feminine form of Charles. I wouldn't do it. They could technically both be Charlie
