NBSR when to send out bridal shower invites?

I'm throwing a bridal shower for my friend. I don't remember how far in advance my bridal shower invitations were sent out, mainly because I didn't send them out. I Googled this in the hopes of finding a good answer but I got 2 months to 6 weeks?? This sounds awfully early to me. I'm pretty sure that's how long we gave for our wedding invitations. I was leaning more towards 3-4 weeks before the shower? That way people are able to plan accordingly if they would like to come, but also wasn't too early that they would lose the invite or forget?

3-4 weeks for a shower is totally acceptable. More than that is ridiculous, in my opinion.

I usually go with 6 weeks so people can plan. I certainly would not send them out two months in advance.

5 to 6 weeks is a good time. Its enough time for people to plan but not too long that they will forget. I know 3 weeks for me is not enough time because I normally have stuff planned already.
