Honestly, I hate it.
Leo and...
Felix
Luca
I find that it sounds quite harsh for a first name. I don't think it's too short.
I'd like to add to Luca (love) and Felix (love!): Giorgio, Tommasso, Francesco, Lorenzo (Enzo), and Valerio.
Leo and Eli would make a really cute sibset as well!
Do you know this name actually is to represent the holy cross on which Jesus died? It seems weird to me that this name is getting trendy because it seems uber religious to me.
Dominic
Aldo
Antonio
Giovanni
Lorenzo (Enzo) this gives you the Z if you are drawn to that letter.
Joy2611:Trendy. I hear it and think "Oh, the Beckhams."

Luca (which I know gets a lot of love on this board) and Eli are also on my personal short-list. But DH does not like them! He also doesn't love Cruz, but likes it the best of the three.
Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I don't want something super Italian sounding, but just enough to sound okay with the other names. Felix is interesting, but I will have to think about it for a while.

That's too bad! But you've both got to be on board. Perhaps you can convince him of Elias :) How about Jasper, Milo or Hugo?
I love it (it is in the running for our middle name) and don't consider it to be too trendy or popular - it has never been over 300 since 1999. http://www.ssa.gov/cgi-bin/babyname.cgi
I didn't even know one of the Beckham children was named Cruz until reading this post.
I did know the religious connection. I lost my dad last year and like the name to honor his Mexican heritage and because it means cross in Spanish.
