I usually post on Secondary IF, but I have a Viagra/Acupuncture Question!!

My new protocol, which I'll hopefully be doing March/April is an alternative, last resort option from CCRM in Colorado; my local RE is doing it though. To help my lining for a FET, it has Lupron, Estrogen injections, Estrace, PIO, vitamin E, Trendal (sp?)- which helps increase blood flow as well as Viagra to increase blood flow to my uterus(yep- viagra suppositories). My RE also strongly recommends acupuncture, which I did my first round of IVF, but I'm not convinced it helps. Do any of you ladies strongly believe in acupuncture or had success with it? Anyone use viagra for lining issues? If this doesn't work, it's the end of my road, and I'm absolutely terrified, and I've been crying all day. This is such a roller roaster, and I'm having such a hard time being positive.

I also just found out that three of my friends, a coworker, and a student (I'm a hs teacher) are pregnant. Water, water everywhere but not a drop to drink...

I've been doing acupuncture for 1.5 years and I do believe it is helpful for fertility issues. I KNOW it is helpful for blood flow issues to the ovaries and uterus as CC.RM strongly suggests it (I am a new patient there) and also offers it before and after transfers.

I've had 2 pregnancies in that time, neither of which lasted. I wouldn't say that acu was the sole reason that I got PG because I also had 2 PGs before acu. I also would not say that acu had any correlation to my miscarriage or chem PG.

Acu for me is very very relaxing and prior to doing IVFs, helped to regulate my cycles (eliminating spotting and increasing their length from 26 days to 28.)

I'm quite needle adverse but I enjoy acupuncture and if you pursue it, would suggest you find a practitioner who specializes in fertility issues.

IVF #1 April 2012 = BFN, IVF #2 June 2012 = BFP. U/S 7/23 = saw heartbeat but measuring behind. Follow up U/S on 7/30 - no heartbeat. D&C 8/2. Trisomy 12. IVF #3 Oct 2012 = Chemical Pregnancy

Phone consult with CCRM on 12/12/12 - ODWU 1/4/13 - both tubes clear(!) - AFC 24, AMH 3.2, FSH 9.6, LH 5.4, E2 25. DH has high frag rate but improved!
IVF #4 March 2013 CCRM. EP protocol w/ Menopur, Gonal-F & Dexamethasone. ER 3/29 & IMSI, PICSI. 43R 13M 10F 6blasts bio'd. CCS testing reveals 3 normals!!! FET 5/31/13

Thank you! That is encouraging to know!

 I've tried three FETs so far, and cancelled all cycles due to thin lining. The last time I did a stim cycle, and my lining still only reached a 6.5. My RE (in Chicago) works closely with a hollistic fertility facility, so I will go there. he told me I don't have to start until my cycle begins in March, but would you suggeststarting acupuncture earlier? I'm totally willing to give it a try- I am will to try anything!!!

Yes, I would start earlier, if you can. I think it would help for a few reasons. One, just knowing what to expect and having some sessions under your belt so you know the process and what the needling feels like. It should not be uncomfortable. Two, because I (this is just my own belief) think the body needs time to adapt and make changes and 1 cycle is not enough. And three, in case you don't like it or can't stand it or dislike the practitioner, it could give you time to find another way, or another acupuncturist to work on your lining issues.

There are 2 of us here that are doing the viagra suppositories and it seems to be working for both of us so far but we are both a little over a week in. I know nothing about accupuncture. I get poked enough through this process that Im not going to do anymore poking than I have to. I dont really believe in it anyways, just my opinion. But more power to you and I hope it works.

Yes I am on estrace oral 2x day and patches.  The Viagra is also 2x day. My lining is better today than it was wed.

I'm a CCRM patient. They really encourage acupuncture. I did it before and after ET. The way I see it.... if I did acupuncture and it failed - oh well. If I did not do acupuncture and it failed I would always wonder "what if". So I did it. Personally, it's not really my thing. I'm good with all of it except the head and ear needles. They just gave me the heebie jeebies. Still, I did feel very relaxed during it. I'm sorry you're having such a hard time right now Sad  I've heard a couple people on here talk about using viagra. I hope it works for you!!

TTC #1 for Dh, #2 for me. HSG clear. Low AMH and endo. Multiple Clomid w/TI cycles - all BFNs. 2 IUIs with Clomid and 1 with Femara - more BFNs. IVF#1 25R, 15M, 15F. 5DT of two perfect 4AA blasts! Positive HPT at 5dp5dt. Beta #1 6dp5dt - 72. Beta #2 8dp5dt - 285. Beta #3 10dp5dt - 793. Both babies have strong beautiful heartbeats! Baby B miscarried at 7 weeks. Baby A is holding on through miscarrying her twin, sub-chorionic hematoma, and complete placenta previa. Stick, baby, stick!

Good to hear! I hope things continue to go well! I'm going to be taking it four times a day because my lining has reached only 6.5 the last three cycles and then just stops no matter how much estrogen I take I even was doing IM injections, but my body just doesn't respond to it.
