XP.. Anyone with a previous broken hip or pelvis?

I know its a kinda out there question

But Ive had both when I was much younger, and now they're saying it could cause  complications with trying to birth this baby.

Im going for an appt with my midwife and an OB to discuss, how bad it is.  Not sure how they're going to check it out when I can't get an X-ray.

Wondered if anyone has any experience with this?

I did a flip in my mothers stomach and broke my hip. No one knew until I was 3 months old since they didn't do the routine tests they do today. I've lived with hip pain for as long as I can remember and I knew it was going to be tricky with giving birth. When I got pregnant with my first daughter, I had brought it up to my doctor right away and she didn't think it was going to be a problem. As I got bigger, the pain got more intense and I was really starting to second guess on having her naturally. When I was 39 weeks, I was induced due to preclampsia. I was in labor for 24 hours and pushed for 2 straight hours. Needless to say my daughter was NOT coming out! After my c-section, my doctor came in to check on me in recovery. The first thing she said to me was there is absolutely no way I could ever have a natural child birth. My daughter was stuck between my hips and clenching on her head. Unfortunately there is no way of finding out these type of situations until you are in them. I am currently pregnant with my second daughter and I'm scheduling my c-section in the next couple of weeks. I hope and wish the best for you! Good luck!

My midwife is concerned and already stated she will not be letting me push as long as usual. We are meeting with an OB to discuss if they're even going to let me attempt to deliver or if it will be best to just schedule a c section.

I really wanted to go natural and in no way do I want a c section, but Ive shattered my pelvis once, broke it on another occasion.  Also Ive broken my hip once.  Im happy my midwife is as concerned as she is though after hearing what you went through.

Sorry you had to go through all that.

I don't have any advice/experience as I am a FTM but I broke my hip in a car accident when I was 18 and have been worried about how that might affect giving birth as well!

Make sure you let you midwife/OB know and see what they say.

*Lurker* I am close to the 2nd trimester so just started lurking a little.  I broke my pelvis 7 years ago (in a show jumping accident) and my OB is extremely concerned that it could cause complications in my delivery.  She is concerned I could have a bone spur which could hurt the baby, probably the same concern you have.  I know my OB was going to show the original x-rays to a few colleagues and discuss it.  I am not sure if they will want me to have another x-ray, and if that is even possible during pregnancy.  My OB said there was a pretty good chance I will have a c-section because of this though.  I am curious what others have experienced.  I hope you will post an update after your appointment.

I fractured my pelvis a few months before I got pregnant. So not as bad as some of you ladies, but I am noticing how painful it is just as I am growing (26 weeks) it's so so painful!
