1st Monitoring appointment this AM...

Can't anything go smoothly? Synopsis of my day:

7a- feeling really good on my way to my RE. If all is good, I get the green light to start stims tonight

8a-"hmmmm.... there's a cyst on your left ovary" ......  Wait, it looks like it has been there for a bit, so might not be an issue.  We wait until your E2 comes back. If it doesn't look functional, we are still a go.  Check the phone tree after 3 for instructions. 

2:15- phone rings from RE's office. Can't be good. So....we got your lab results. E2 is 20, so you look suppressed. Don't think that cyst is an issue

(I breathe)...HOWEVER... Your Progesterone is a little higher than we'd like at 2.3. Still no AF?? Of course, not the slightest hint of spotting or cramping. Nope, nothing yet. Any chance you can drive up to another office (an hour away) for a repeat draw? Um, no...I'm at work and there's no way. Any chance you can draw it yourself and send it off stat? If you can repeat it, call me later with results and we will see how it goes. 

Hang up....deep breath...fight back tears since I'm at the hospital. "Doc, you're lady is ready to start pushing" paint smile on face, go in and deliver a beautiful baby girl. Leave and run to hospital lab and beg them to run a stat progesterone level.

7p- progesterone result is in. 1.1 Call RE...so, it seems its coming down...still no AF? Nope. Ok...start stims tomorrow instead of tonight. We will see you Tuesday morning for repeat bloodwork and ultrasound.  

Hang up with RE....cue migraine that always announces AF is coming.

I think tonight is a good night for a glass of wine, yes?

Wow!  WHAT a day!  I'm sorry it was so stressful!  While it seemed like a roller coaster - the silver lining is that you CAN start your stims tomorrow!!!  GOOD LUCK! :-)

Only if its white wine....red wine might be too many tannins for your migraines :)

January 2013- IVF #3-- BFFN
February 2013--Found a new RE but first back to the Endocrinologist for more diagnostic testing
Absolutely no idea when we can cycle again...looking into DE as well if IVF#4 fails again
PAIF/SAIF encouraged...give me some hope!!

Thanks, ladies! I'm trying to look at the silver lining, absolutely! I'm glad to be starting, though this kinda shook the good vibes I had going leading up to this cycle. I'm hoping this is the only bump in the road for this cycle. Last cycle was such a string of bumps that I was praying this one wouldn't be so difficult. Anyway, I'm glad to be starting tomorrow and I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

NYCGal...yes, I'm an OB. Most days are great, then some days suck terribly. Thankfully I can usually go into "doc mode" and get past all the crap going on in my head while I'm doing my thing. Then I come home and lose it like I did this afternoon.

I'm sorry you had a rough day, but I'm sure the wine helped some:-) no matter how smooth we think this process is going to go, there always seems to be something that goes awry. 

I noticed in your siggy that you are taking an egg quality cocktail. I know some others are on dhea and coQ10, but can you tell me what frc is?  And can you tell me how much you were recommended to take of all the supplements?  Tia!

Me: 35, DH: 36, ttc: 3+ years, dx: unknown
10/11: after 2 years, saw a RE, FSH 5.4
11/11: BFP! (surprise after thyroid med & normal hsg),
12/11: missed m/c after 7 week u/s,
1/12: D&C,
6/12 IUI #1: clomid, 5 mature follicles, excellent sperm,= BFN,
7/12: IUI #2: clomid, 3 mature follicles, excellent sperm= BFN,
8/12: IUi #3: clomid, 5 follicles, = BFP!, C/P
10/12 IVF #1: FSH 5.4, estradiol AFC: 14, long Lupron 150/bravelle75,5R/5M/4F, all 4 made it to 5dt, 1 blast and 1 8 cell transferred. No frosties. BFN
IVF #2: AFC 21, MD lupron 12/25, 225bravelle/150men, 4R/4M/3F, 5dt of 1 blast BFN
IVF #3: natural start antagon, starting 3/30, ER 4/11, 12R,11M,10F

stressful to say the least.  it sucks that we rely on RE phone calls and have to be incredibly flexible and can't plan anything.  at least the last call seemed like positive news and you can start stims!  
Me (37) DH (39); Finally correctly diagnosed with DOR in 2012; Started TTC 2009; RE 2009/2010- RE cycle #1 clomid+ ovidrel + TI = BFN; RE cycle #2 clomid + ovidrel + TI=BFN; RE cycle #3 femara + ovidrel + IUI= BFN; RE cycle #4 75iu follistim + ovidrel + IUI= BFN; RE cycle #5 150iu follistim + ovidrel + IUI = BFN ; Took a break and had Weight loss surgery in 2011, back to new RE in 2012 ; AMH 0.43 IVF #1 /ICSI and AH; MDL protocol - ER 2/11 5R, 3M, 2F Three day transfer of 8 cell grade 3 and 8 cell grade 2 embryos. BFN. RPL testing shows homo MTHFR and hetero PAI-1. IVF #2 antagonist-ER 5/14 8R 6M 5F. Three day transfer of 3 embies. 6 cell grade 3, 4 cell grade 2, 5 cell grade 3. Hoping and praying.
