NTBSR: Does this Sound Tacky?

I was on Craigslist looking for inexpensive baby gear. I ran across an ad:

16 & Pregnant

My names Loren and im 16 & Pregnant. If anybody has any baby items or anything that would help my family and I out A LOT . Im 21 weeks pregnant with a baby boy. (:

Anything helps .

I don't think it's tacky at all, possibly a scam, but not tacky if legit.  Craig's list also has boards for free items and give a ways.

It sounds like this mom is in a tough position and is doing what she can to get ready for her baby.  A lot of items on there are so cheap, it's reasonable to think someone would give them away to a good home for free.  I would.

 If she were emailing friends or posting on Facebook asking people to buy stuff for her kid, that's another story.  This sounds like she's just reaching out for help.

Eh, we get a lot of those too. I'm only bothered by the ones that want something for free, and get pretty specific. I've dropped off things that were going to donation to kids like her before, and I've never had any not appreciate it. But then I only answer the ones that seem like their just looking for help.

If it's legit I don't feel it's tacky. Now if she posted something like this on fb for people she knows or sent personal messages asking for free stuff that would be different. To me she just seems like she needs some help and figures there may be someone who just wants to get rid of their baby stuff.

I would assume it is a scam. 

If you have extra baby stuff give it to a reputable charity and the needy mom(s) can then visit the charity.

Anyone else immediately think people should send the chick a box of condoms so she doesn't get knocked up again?

I agree with this. If I met her and it was legit I would give her some stuff that I don't need anymore. She messed up, now she is doing whatever she can to get what she needs.

I don't see anything wrong with that. The opposite actually, it takes a lot of guts to do what she is doing.
