Lylah

I really love the name Lylah/Lilah.... But the only thing that is keeping me from naming my daughter that is that I can't tell if its one of those names that have a younger connotation to it, or is that just me being a worrisome mom. I would greatly appreciate opinions!

I don't think so, I have a friend named Lyla.

Are you asking if it won't age well or if it's more of a "teen mom" kind of name choice?

Either way I think you're fine.  It's a nice name. Although I prefer the Lila spelling.

I don't think it sounds young. I like Lila too.

Dh had an (evil) step mother whose name was Lilah (she was nice though). And she was about 80 so I think it ages fine. I like Lilah and think it ages better than the similar Lily.

To me, Lyla is an old lady name that is making a comeback with all other old fashioned names.

as a side comment, I prefer spelling as Lyla.

If I were using an H in the name, I would use Lilah spelling.

Lylah spelling doesn't "look right' to me.

Its a beautiful name and was on my very short list for Daughter.

My great grandmother's name was Lyla so to me it seems like it would age just fine (though I'm not one to give much consideration to how a name ages- I figure my DD will be able to own it).

I agree that the H looks a little off with the Lyla spelling but works with the Lilah spelling.

I think Lila/Lilah is a pretty name.  The Lylah spelling looks off to me.

I actually think it's a comeback name. I think it will hold up over time. It's nice and I much prefer it to Layla. I like the Lilah spelling best.

We really like Layla and this was my thought exactly. But the people I have talked to, both irl and through tb, that like the name thinks it will age fine. I think my reasoning for questioning if it will age well is because I have never met an adult with the name Lylah or Layla.

My grandma's name is Lila so no I don't think it has a younger connotation to it. I prefer the Lila spelling, or at least Lilah over Lylah. I think the random 'y' in it will give it a younger connotation.

I love this name. But hate the "y" spelling. I much prefer Lila. Even Lilah is better.

I love the spelling Lila or Lilah. Not a fan of the Y.  It's on our girl name list.

If you're worried you could always go with Delilah and call her Lilah.

I like it and think it fits on all ages.

As couple pps have said... I like Lila, Lyla, or Lilah.  Lylah doesn't look right to me.

I hear Lylah and I think Friday Night Lights. That isn't a bad thing. I think it will age just fine.

FWIW - I prefer Layla.

I think your two spelling choices make it look trendy and teen mom. Use Lila, and I think you're in the clear.
