Stomach hard as rock!

I'm 15 wks pregnant with twins, my first pregnancy. For the past couple of weeks I wake up in the middle of the night with my stomach feeling like a rock and its very uncomfortable. It lasts for hours until I stand up and walk around. Is this normal? I have a dr appt this Wed so I will ask the dr then too. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

Sounds like braxton hicks - not sure if it's normal to happen so early or not.

Drink LOTS of water. It's supposed to help with bh but 15 wks does seem pretty early for that.

You start having contractions super early. I cant remember the exact week but like 6 weeks or something like that. But the uterus is still too small for any of us to feel it. Sounds like braxton hicks to me although I never heard of it lasting for hours. But as long as its not painful you should be ok.

I had this the other day.  It lasted several hours for me, so I don't think it was contractions.  It felt to me like the baby had changed position.  I am going to run it by the doctor this week.

Thanks everyone. I will post on Wednesday what the dr tells me. I feel much better now knowing that others have experienced this.

I agree with PPs - it sounds like Braxton Hicks to me.

I told my OB about Braxton Hicks that I'd been having since about week 16/17 - and she wanted to check my cervix to make sure nothing was going on down there - dilation or anything.  There wasn't, so she said not to worry about them - but I'd definitely bring it up with your OB!
