Narrowed it down a teensy bit

Okay, so maybe not a teensy bit but I have it down to 7 which is a huge accomplishment seeing as I have been saving up names since I was 15. I have really enjoyed yalls input, even if it is harsh, (so keep on being truthful please) because its an outsiders opinion. Its how she will be percieved so thank you!! This is probably the last one I will post for a while, I just want opinions.

My faves are Lillian and Colette (haven't heard that one much). Eden and Ariana are far too trendy for my taste (but my taste doesn't really matter, yours does). Evelyn is cute, I guess... I like old-fashioned names coming back into style (Betsy, etc). Riley... meh. Also trendy, and the Riley's I've known I haven't really liked. But obviously that's a personal thing. Haha. Lila is cute too.

Most of these are nice names. I like all of them *except* Riley and Ariana. Evelyn, Lila, Eden, Lillian, and Colette are all beautiful. I think if I had to pick one, I'm leaning towards Colette at the moment. You don't hear it as much as Lila, Eden, or Lillian, which are all somewhat popular (as in, I hear them being thrown out as options a lot).

Lila - It's a fine name, NMS. A great option, but not my favourite from your list.

Eden - I don't know what it is about this name that doesn't do it for me. I like the sound, but I don't like the way it looks. 

Lillian - Love it. Cute nn options. Ages well.

Colette - I'm not crazy about this name. I didn't know why, so I started questioning myself. The French pronounciation is awesome. However, I knew a German girl with this name and wasn't crazy about that sound. Also, when thinking of the English/American pronounciation I started thinking 'colleteral' (clearly, I was overthinking it, but now I can't get rid of seeing it!).

Riley - a guilty pleasure name for me. However, comparing it to your other names I think that your other options will age better.

Ariana - is completely NMS. A fine name in itself, it just doesn't do it for me.

From your list Evelyn and Lillian are my favourites.

Evelyn -- a little "old ladyish".  Note how many people "LOVE" this name.  The "little old lady" names thing has become trendy.

Lila -- cute

Eden -- former student of this name was a pain, also too biblical for me

Lillian -- if you used Lily as a nn, this is fine.  Lillian = bridge club

Colette -- makes me think of poodles

Riley -- this is a boy name in my book

Ariana -- like it

evelyn is pretty, classic, timeless.

lila reminds me of the babysitter's club (lila fowler) but otherwise is nice

eden seems like a teen mom type name.  i don't know why.

lillian - also classic, but totally saturated in today's naming pool

colette - pretty, seems very french.  nice name!

riley - i know it's very unisex, but it's a nice name too.

ariana - it just reminds me of areola :)

Eden - dislike

Lillian - nice, but I prefer Jillian

Colette - nms but it could grow on me; I'd be afraid of the NN Collie (as the dog)

Evelyn: fine old name, trendy, popular (top 25)

Lila: also fine, a little more modern than Evelyn, somewhat less popular

Eden: modern, but I like the sound anyway

Lillian: fine old name, I like it better than Evelyn (and love nn Lily), also top-25

Colette: much rarer than the other names on your list, NMS, but a solid name, a good option if you're worried about popularity

Riley: I do not see the appeal of this name.

Ariana: I like Ariana better than Evelyn, but not as much as Lillian. My major worry is that it can be spelled so many ways — my name has dozens of spellings and it really is annoying.

 

Top 3: Lillian, Eden, Ariana

But really, I think they're all nice (except Riley).

I like Colette the best.  It's uncommon (and under used) but not weird or too new-age.  Evelyn is also nice and classic, but I notice its starting to make a comeback as I'm seeing it on a lot of people's names lists lately. 

If you're concerned about the nickname for Colette, then just come up with an acceptable nickname for her (and let it be known) before someone else does!  I always thought Cece or Kiki were cute and would work as nicknames for full names starting with a hard "c" (or "k") sound.

Love Colette. All the names are nice, except Riley IMO. I've never understood the appeal for this name for a girl as it lacks femininity, I think.

I like Lila and Lillian the best. Then Eden. I want to like Colette but when I say it out loud it sounds harsh to me. I really don't like Riley (pet name), Ariana (nms), or Evelyn (I really don't get the appeal of this one, although it's popular so others obviously do).
