Thoughts on girl names...

Okay, so my husband and I are struggling to choose a name for our baby girl.  Let me know what you think of these 3 names and any suggestions for middle names that would go with them.  Thanks!

I think the only girl name you have there is Katelyn.

Addison and Madison are boy's names (that whole -son suffix).

All of these names are pretty popular and over done right now. But my vote is for Katelyn. I don't really like Madison and Addison is the name of a disease (seriously).

Of the three names you have there, I most prefer Caitlin (with this spelling, though!)

My second choice would be Madison, and I have to say that I strongly dislike Addison--sorry!

I would suggest a short, one syllable middle name to go with a multi syllabic first name.  Good luck!

I know Addison and Madison were originally boy names, today I would think it was very strange for a boy to have these names. They are much more commonly girls names. I'm not saying that it should have happened or is a good thing, just saying what has happened.

I like all three of your names!! Some middle name ideas:

Katelyn. Do you have a family name you could use for the middle?

Addison mean's Son of Adam and is the name of a disease.

Madison means Son of Maud and is a dead president. And there are a bajillion Maddy's and Addie's running around.

Addison and Madison are way too popular/trendy for my taste (in a preschool class of 10, DS has 2 Addisons and a Madison), so I'd go with Katelyn by default.

If I met a boy with the name Addison/Madison I would seriously side eye the parents.  They may have started as boy's names but are def girl names now.

And until I read this thread, I didn't know Addison was a disease...I'm willing to bet most people don't and even if they do wouldn't bat an eye at the name.

I like Addison better than Madison - still Katelyn the best.

All of this.  "Katelyn" looks way too cutesy.  Can you imagine an attorney or doctor with this spelling?  And Addison and Madison are just overdone...and they were awful to start with.  I don't know why they ever caught on.  Probably because people think "Addie" and "Maddie" are cute...and they're just not

I like Katelyn but spelled Caitlin better. Someone suggested Katelyn Elizabeth and I think that is very pretty.

I'm kind of over the -lyn names.  I think Addison is ok, but don't like that it became uber popular after the show Greys.  Madison is cute but NMS.  I'd pick Madison and call her Maddy for short.
