Tips

Anyone have tips for helping my dd sleep through the night? She keeps waking herself up with her hands and then wants to eat but will only eat an ounce then fall back to sleep! It's always around the same time each night (3/3:30) any tips or suggestions? She hates being swaddled :-(

How old is your DD?  Consistently sleeping through the night is pretty random at this point.  You could see if she will eat a bit more before going down but again most LO's don't STTN now.  My first son didn't until 2 1/2.  This age is filled with growth spurts, changes in routine, different phases etc.  You kind of just roll with the punches, but one wake up is pretty good as some kids still wake up every two hours or so.

My son slept through the night at 7 weeks but dd started then immediately stopped lol she is 12 weeks old

mittens. I put a ton of lotion on her hands then those mittens so that they dont scratch themselves. That seems to help me....

Ditto PP: how old is your LO? Also, are you breastfeeding?

I really don't expect my LO to sleep through the night for quite awhile. The longest stretch I've ever gotten is 4 hrs which, actually, is pretty close to the 5 hr, medically recognized "sleeping through the night."

Clusterfeeding does seem to help extend her sleeping periods.

Do a half swaddle.  It pins her arms but leaves the legs free.
