baby k'tan vs moby bmb xp

Does anyone use or know anyone who uses the baby k'tan? I have always liked the idea of the moby wrap better than most carriers out there, but my sister got one when her daughter was born and almost never used it.

The baby k'tan seems to be everything I liked about the moby, but more convenient. I think that this is the one I want, but I don't know anyone who uses it, and I have only seen it online.

Anyone able to comment on the quality, comfort, or convenience of the k'tan?

I only liked the ktan for when DD was a newborn. I preferred it over the Moby, which I had borrowed from a friend to try, because I found it much easier to use. I hated wrapping the Moby!

But I think the ktan is kind of hard to size. I don't think their sizing instructions take boobs into account. My medium got very uncomfortable after about two months and I'm pretty sure I should have had the largest size, which is funny to me because I'm so petite. I'm not sure who the hell can actually fit in the small. I even emailed the company and they assured me the fabric would stretch with use. Maybe it's because I only used it a few times a week, but it never stretched. I ended up getting an Ergo, which I love.

I just got the ktan and I love it. And my DD was 11 months first time I tried it. I've even been able to nurse her in it, which I never was able to do with my Mai Tai style carrier. Anyhoo, I can't wait to be able to use it with a nb I think it will be awesome. The size seems fairly accurate to me, but like pp said some people may have a hard time Esp as your boobs grow and shrink etc. I am a 14 and got a large it fits very well

I have the ktan and have been using it almost every day with my almost 4 week old. It is so easy to use and she falls asleep whenever I put her in it. It makes getting things done around the house so much easier. I liked it so much that my husband ended up getting one too...It is sized so you would have to get 2 if you both want to use it-thats one negative about the ktan vs the moby. but he got his 2nd hand on ebay and only paid $10 for it.

I tried the Moby but it was way too much wrapping for me- The ease of the ktan is worth it.

Definitely use your pre-pregnancy sizingg when ordering.

I love my K'Tan!  It is perfect for newborns.  After watching a few tutorials, I learned how to use it in a snap.

I had the Moby for my first and while I loved how it cradled DS, I hated the wrapping. I also never used it in public because I couldn't figure out how to wrap it without dragging the tails on the ground. So this time, I plan to get the K'tan for the newborn phase.

We have an ergo for when LO is older and heavier.

I'm the minority here - I have the K'Tan and DS hates it.  I was only able to wear him about half a dozen times, and that isn't for a lack of trying.  He screams most other times and would continue to cry until I give up 10 minutes later.  I think DS somehow just doesn't like the confinement.  I wasn't able to do the Kangaroo position w/him, and he tolerated the hug position those half dozen times only.  Maybe I got the wrong size?  I wear size 2 and got XS.  When DS is in it, it feels secure and snug, but I think DS feels it's too tight for him.  I also didn't find it that comfortable either.

I'm waiting him to be big enough for the Ergo; hope he likes that better than the K'Tan.

I saw a ktan on clearance at the Target near me for 15 but it might have been an online return. I had a Moby and used it for a about 6 weeks until DD was big enough for the Ergo without the insert. She's a big baby and it was a bit too awkward to use the Moby but I only tried one way to tie it.

I liked that I could put it on before leaving the house and just slip DD in and out wherever we stopped.

I love my K'tan.  I have never tried the moby but it overwhelmed me to think about it.

My kid was the opposite.  Hates the Ergo.  Loves the K'Tan because he can face outward.

Huge K'tan fan here. its just so easy to use. i really hated the wrapping of the moby - even though i could figure it out just fine, it was still a pita to have to do every time i wanted to wear lo. the k'tan is just so much easier to use.
