Re-intro

I've replied to a few posts here and there over the last 6 months or so, but think I should reintroduce myself since I've been mostly lurking. I expect to be on here more frequently in the next few months as we are moving onto IVF after two failed IUIs.

I'm 33 and DH is 29. We've been trying for 27 cycles now. We recently did two IUI cycles and just yesterday had a follow-up apt with our RE. He said numbers and stats from the last two IUI cycles looked good (except for the low post wash count for the 1st IUI). He said he'd be comfortable with us doing another IUI cycle or moving onto IVF. Based on limited insurance coverage, we have decided to move onto IVF. 

Currently I'm having the longest cycle I've ever had at 49 days and experiencing minor pelvic pain. I've had a ruptured cyst in the past that was quite painful. I'm waiting on a call from the RE's office with the results of bloodwork done yesterday. Once this cycle is resolved I think I will soon after go on bc in preparation for an IVF cycle (possibly part of the March IVF group).

DH diagnosed with Azoospermia in January 2012
Vas reconstruction surgery in April 2012; unsuccessful
IVF with ICSI February 2013; single blastocyst 5dt
First beta March 1 is 147!!!

I'm sorry you have to be here, but this board is the best place on earth to get support and loads of information. I hope that one IVF cycle is all it takes!

10/1 - Start BCP for 14 days
10/18 - Stims: 50mg Clomid & 75iu Gonal-F
10/30- Trigger w/ Syranel Nasal Spray

5/09- Off BCP, 5/09-9/09- No period, 9/09-9/10- Lots of Tests & accupuncture
10/10 and 11/10- 2 rounds of Menopur + TI= BFNS
12/10-IUI #1 Menopur = BFN
1/11- IUI #2 Menopur = BFP, 2/11 missed mc at 9 weeks, D&C
5/11- Operative Hysteroscopy to remove uterine septum
6/11- IUI #3 Menopur = BFP, 8/11 missed mc at 11 weeks, D&C
1/12- Lap and Operative Hysteroscopy to remove uterine septum (again) & scar tissue

12/2/11 - IUI #1- BFN
8/1/12 - IVF #1 - Zero response from max stims (600iu intramuscularly)
My ovaries seem to be just for decoration

12/6/12 - Adopted five embryos that had been frozen for over ten years!
2/11/13 - Thawed four, sadly two didn't survive. Transferred two beautiful blasts.

2/16/13 - First BFP of my life!
3/27/13 - No heartbeat at 9w0d. D&C the following day.

4/23/13 - Matched to adopt five new embryos!

I did hear back from the trial. It sounds like they will be closing it soon (possibly Feb-March). We decided it probably wouldn't work that well for us, between the stress of traveling back and forth to NY, and having to miss so much time for work. Also, after talking to the RE yesterday he didn't recommend ICSI, so it looks like the cost between a local IVF cycle and all associated costs with travel/meds at the NH trial would be fairly similar.

How are you doing?

I'm doing well. Enjoying our breaking and getting our life back to "normal". We had a great WTF appt with Dr.Z and feel comfortable moving forward with them for IVF#2. But we wanted to take a breather to digest everything that's happened. We'll probably try again March.

Glad to hear that life is slowly getting back to normal for you, what a difficult road you have traveled lately. I wish you the best of success for IVF#2. We may be cycling through IVF around the same time.

Thanks for the warm welcomes ladies. I found out possibly good news last night when looking at my husband's company insurance. It looks like they may have full IF coverage! That would be such a blessing. I'm calling the insurance company as well as double checking with the REs financial coordinator today to find out for sure.
