End of the Road

Today was a horrible day and my appointment went about as bad as it can go. I knew he was going to cancel me, Im flooding a river. But the problem is, whats next? When we spoke this morning he obvioulsy didnt have my lab work yet. HIs thoughts were maybe my estrogen dropped out and he needs to find another way to get estrogen to me. It was 812 last week and 784 today, so nope thats not it. He also thought maybe I ovulated (which he didnt think happened) and my progesterone was high which will make you slough your lining. Nope he was right I didnt ovulate my progesterone was <0.2 today. He did biopsys last month with the hysteroscopy so he knows theres not any kind of infection and also no structural problems. He is going to have me take 2 weeks of Doxy to treat for a uncommon infection, I think he said microplasma or something. There is no indication that I have it but at this point he is throwing the book at me. He is also going to try nuepagen when we start the next cycle. Its a experimental procedure where they put this nuepagen fluid into your uterus, it flows out and magicaly your supposed to grow a better lining and not have fluid. Once again Im willing to try anything at this point. The last chance effort to do a FET is to give me low dose gonadotropin injections. Some of his colleagues believes that the only way to get a lining to thicken is by stimulating the ovaries since they share a blood supply to the uterus. He doesnt really agree with this theory but hes willing to try it. Lastly, we can do a fresh IVF cycle but that wasnt perfect either. I had fluid in my uterus between ER and ET and it ended in miscarriage. So we have to think the reason we lost it was because of lining issues. And thats where we meet the end of the road. If these last few efforts fail then thats that and I will never carry a child of my own. He talked about using a surrogate today, thats when the water works really started. Im so sick of crying in front of these people. Anyways, Im not sure how I feel about using one. I have a couple people very close to me that have previously offered and would meet the criteria to be one. I just dont know if Im ok with being so cheated out of being able to feel my child grow inside of me and have that bond. It also doesnt help that DH isnt really down with using a surrogate. Something about it just creeps him out. So I was texting him on the way home from the drs office and he said well if its not meant to be then its just not meant to be. We will just have really nice toys. So I then ask him, so you mean if this doesnt work then thats it? Thats when he told me he's not really into that sort of thing but following that he said we would have to discuss it and come to a compromise. So the door to that route isnt completly shut but its not wide open either. I dont even know how I really feel about it at this point. We will cross that bridge when we get to it. When I asked my RE if we were headed towards surrogacy after he said one of my options was also to use another uterus, he said your just a few steps from it. So I will be on provera, estrace and doxy for the next rwo weeks then call when AF shows up. I guess from there we start over.

So there you go, Im on the last chapter of this novel and I am petrified. I am so heartbroken, lost, cheated, scared, angry, you name it Im feeling it. I think Im going to intro over next door to IFV. I know they are having a coming to Jesus meeting over there about new rules for joining but hopefully I will be welcomed. And if not thats ok too, the bump and I will just have to go our seperate ways. I am still rooting for everyone over here but there is just way to much happy happy happy happening on this board for me to stay and not want to slit my wrists. I will check in on you ladies from time to time but its just to hard to stay at this point. It will be very difficult to walk away from this board since it has been my rock for quite a while now. But for my own sanity and probably the sake of my marriage I need a break. I truly wish every single one of yall the very best of luck.

Oh Crystal....I'm so sorry! My heart breaks for you...I really hope you take time to heal, maybe a second opinion down the line is an option. Maybe you and DH will come to terms with alternatives...either way, I can't imagine what you're going through, but I just wanted to send my thoughts and prayers your way, that you can find some solace.  I understand you needing to leave, though ill be sad to see you go. I am so sorry! I wish your RE had a clear cut answer and plan for you. It sucks so bad when our bodies do everything in their power to screw us over! And yes, we're trying to work out kinks on the IFV board, but if we go by the current rules (6+ month IF board history and a supportive member) you are definitely welcome to join. Hopefully, we get the kinks worked out soon so there are no more feelings hurt. ((hugs))

DH - all clear. Me - Unicornuate Uterus discovered at HSG 8/16/12. Referred for IVF 8/28/12. Approved for IVF Warranty Program 10/2/12. Laparoscopy 11/1/12 - removed right rudamentary horn, both tubes, left ovarian cyst and endometriosis. Given all clear for pregnancy after 1/1/2013.
IVF cycle 1 starts 1/19/13!
12 eggs, 7 mature and all 7 fertilized - 2 Frosties!!
5 day SET 2/4/13 - Beta 2/13: 86 & 2/15: 186 BFP!!!!

July 2011 - Feb. 2012: 2 Clomid/TI cycles; 3 injectables/IUI cycles. Good response but BFNs.
Dec. 2011: Laparoscopy (clear) + hysteroscopy to remove uterine polyp.

April 2012: IVF #1: FSH 9.2, AFC 7-8. Antagonist protocol.
Started stims (300iu Gonal-F, 150iu Menopur) 3/28.
Added ganirelix 4/1. Trigger 4/5 (7 follies). ER 4/7: 7R, 0M, 0F. :-(

Nov. 2012: IVF #2: Long Lupron protocol.
Started Lupron 10/27. AFC 10+. Started stims (300iu Follistim, 150iu Menopur) 11/8.

I am so very sorry, Crystal. My heart is hurting for you. I have followed your story since the beginning, and you have certainly been on the toughest road, but your strength and determination have been so admirable. I know there are no words that can make it better, but I am thinking of you and hope you and your DH can come together to figure out what is best for you. Surrogacy is a beautiful thing. I wish you the absolute best and lots of happiness in the future! You are a fighter, so don't give up!

Me (33)- unexplained MH (35)- MFI due to Vericocele. Straight to IVF w/ICSI 9/12, Antagonist = BFN c/p, poor quality blasts, tested sperm dna fragmentation. Results all good, yay! New RE for IVF #2- 1/13., Long Lupron. ER on 1/22 -10R, 9M, 9F. Transfer on hold due to overstimming. FET in Feb. 2 frozen blasts. Another BFN & another c/p. RPL testing all negative besides MTHFR gene, vericocle repair surgery 4/12/13-Bilateral Grade 3 Vericocele found & fixed, IVF #3 with PGS 4/13- 11R, 9M, 9F. Transferred 2 normal=BFN, 3 normal on ice Everyone Welcome!!!

October- 100mg Clomid + Trigger + TI = BFN
IVF # 1: Stims 11/30 ER 12/12/12! (10R, 8F, 2 Transferred, 6 Frosties!)
Beta #1- 176 c/p @ 4w4d
FET #1 February 26th
Lost 4 Frosties to Thaw, Transferred 2 = BFFN
IVF # 2 in May Stims Begin 5/10
ER 5/21

I'm so sorry you are dealing with all of this. I really hope they are able to come up with some solution for you. It must be frustrating to not have any answers about WHY this keeps happening.

Take some time to think about all your options. You don't have to decide right away.

I haven't been on the board very long but I know you are one of the most helpful and supportive women on here and you will be missed, but if you need a break from TB I know everyone will understand that.

Gosh I am so sorry!  I think that you and DH will come to an agreement together as to what is the next chapter. Fingers and toes crossed for you and praying not only for you and your hubby- but for your doctor as well.

M/C April 2007. :( TTC since 2008 Metformin- no improvement Clomid 50mg/Provera cycle #1 7/2009 - BFN Clomid 50mg/Provera cycle #2- 8/2009- BFN Clomid 100mg/Provera cycle #3- 1/2010- BFN ...Took a break... 2012- Met with RE DH sperm analysis- all good Prescribed Synthroid for slightly elevated TSH levels 11/12- HSG all clear 1/13- IUI with Femara and trigger shot on 1/31- BFN 2/13-IUI #2- cancelled due to low response 3/13- IUI #3 Femara and trigger shot- BFN 4/13- IUI #4 in the works.

Oh I am so sorry that you have to go through this.  It just sucks.  You are always so sweet and happy and supportive and it breaks my heart to know that you are suffering.  I hope and pray that the dr can find the combination that will work for you.  You deserve your dreams to come true.  I just wish that there was something that I could say or do to help you.  Even if you are not on this board or any other one, please know that you will always be in my thoughts and prayers.

IUI 8-12 and 9-12 failed
IVF 12-21-2012 - 2 I think perfect no matter what the dr graded them (2B)embryos transferred Beta on 12-31-12 Positve - Beta is 21
Beta 2 1-2-13 - 31
Beta 3 1-4-13 - 53
Beta 4 1/9 - 212!
Ultrasound 1/10 - Nothing completely empty uterus Beta 1/14 - 743; Beta 1/17 - 1704 ultrasound shows nothing. Officially a miscarriage. 1/21 Beta 3900 Dr. says it ectopic. Ultrasound shows a miracle heartbeat right in the uterus where it belongs! Dr. says I can be cautiously optomistic!!! Hang in there baby!

TTC #1 since 12/2010. B/W and SA normal; borderline morph
Feb-Nov. 2012: Various Clomid, Femara and inject cycles (3 with IUIs) = all BFNs
July 2012: Lap done with mild Endo found and removed. Confirmed that tubes are both open.
IVF #1 3/13 w/antagonist protocol; Transfer cancelled due to OHSS. Two made it to freeze.
PAIF/SAIF welcome

Crystal, my hurts reading this. I am so sorry you are at this point. I pray that these new measures are all you need to have a successful pregnancy and a take home baby. But if for some reason that is not the case, I hope you and your husband find a path that you both feel comfort and peace in. It's absolutely normal to feel like using any third party in our baby-making efforts to be weird, but talk to anyone who has been through it, those feelings usually end up changing. If you do decide that's the path you are going to take, there are many supportive women on the Third Party Reproduction board that would welcome you, and listen to your feelings. We'd welcome you at the IFV board and even though we are re-examining the rules, I think you still meet the 6 month rule which is all that is in place right now. I am sending you all the squishy hugs and positive vibes your way.
Me (31) DH (35) - Finding our path to baby #1

12/2/11 - IUI #1- BFN
8/1/12 - IVF #1 - Zero response from max stims (600iu intramuscularly)
My ovaries seem to be just for decoration

12/6/12 - Adopted five embryos that had been frozen for over ten years!
2/11/13 - Thawed four, sadly two didn't survive. Transferred two beautiful blasts.

2/16/13 - First BFP of my life!
3/27/13 - No heartbeat at 9w0d. D&C the following day.

4/23/13 - Matched to adopt five new embryos!

This just really, really sucks. I'm sorry for you, I'm sorry for your DH and I wish there were something I could say or do to make you feel better! I'm thinking of you ...

TTC #1 for about 3.5 years
ME: 37, PCO, immune issues?, teflon uterus (my added diagnosis)
HIM: 38, Perfect. (Showoff.)
Month before starting Clomid, spontaneous pregnancy. m/c at 7 weeks and D&C.
Four months of Clomid, one IUI, with Intralipid each cycle: BFNs all
IVF 1.0 July 2012 -- Lupron, bravelle, menopur, estrogen, progesterone supps, intralipid. 14 ER, 14 fertilized, 1 blast transferred, 2 on ice. BFN
FET 1.1 -- 10/2, transferred our 2 blasts. Lupron, PIO, estrogen, baby aspirin, prednisone. BFN.
IVF 2.0 December 2012 -- Bravelle, Menopur, Ganirelix, Prednisone, Metformin, estrogen, progesterone supps. 22 eggs retrieved on 12/14, 17 mature, 15 fertilized. OHSS anticipated so ET cancelled. 3 embryos frozen.
Broke up with old RE. Moving on to new dude. Maybe the change of scenery will be just the trick for our frosties. On BCPs for possible April FET.

Dx: anovulatory due to prolactinoma (1.5cmx 1.5cm in 2006)
April 2012: MRI- questionable cyst 8mg by 12mm in pituitary
referred to RE by Ob-gyn after amenorrhea x 4+ months, provera ineffective, low estrogen level
cycle 1: May 2012, clomid 50mg; cycle cancelled, thin lining, no response
cycle 2: June 2012, femara 5mg; cycle cancelled, no response
cycle 3: July 2012, femara 7.5mg; cycle cancelled (largest folli on Cd12 & cd 16: 11, lining 4)

Aug. 8: met with RE, move to injectables if HSG and SA normal
Aug. 23: HSG all clear; DH- perfect
Switched to a new RE in early Sept. IVF here we come
Genetic testing reveals: Fragile X- Intermediate risk/grey zone.
IVF#1: ER 11/30: 14 retrieved, 10 mature, 7 fertilized. E2 prior to trigger 5200. Decision made to freeze 6 embryos and transfer later due to OHSS.
IVF#1.2/FET #1: estrogen injects start 1/18, FET delayed to try to thicken lining. lining 5.4mm. FET- 2/18- transferred one 3AA expanded blast. BFP 5dp5dt. Beta #1- 2/27 9dp5dt- 102.27 beta #2 3/1: 147 :(, beta #3 3/4: 268 stop meds. #4: 269, #5 133, #6 72, still in beta hell. Beta 7 (3/25) 29.
