Thoughts on these names?

Evan - Is it too similar to big brother Ian?

Connor - Does this sound ok with a last name similar to "Kite"?

Jameson - Do you immediately think of the lliquor?

Elliot - My favorite, but hubby hates it. Do you think it's "wimpy"?

MN is more than likely William. Inducing next week, and running out of time!

Connor - I don't really like it with a last name similar to Kite

Jameson - I don't think of the liquor, however I also don't drink

Elliott - I don't think it's wimpy, I also think it sounds great with Ian

I like Evan the best.  I dislike Connor no matter your last name and Jameson will always be liquor to me

Elliot is my runner up.  NO, it's not wimpy!  It's lovely!

I do think Evan is a bit too matchy to Ian.

I think I'm okay with Connor going with the last name.

Yes, I think of whiskey when I hear Jameson. Would suggest "James" instead.

Elliot is a good name to me but I wouldn't push it if your DH doesn't like it.

Evan - Yes, I think it is a little too similar to Ian

Connor - I don't really care for the name, but don't think it sounds terrible with your last name

Jameson - I do think of the liquor, like the suggestion of James (James William is a classic, lovely name)

Elliott - No, not wimpy, I also think it sounds great with Ian

Evan - yes, it's too similar to Ian.  My ILs gave all their sons middle names that are variations of John, and Evan and Ian are two of my BILs' MNs.  So the first thing I think is that you basically named both your sons John.

Connor - I am not big on random surnames as first names, but this one is okay and it sounds fine with your LN.

Jameson - hard for me to evaluate fairly because of a weird association, but I don't think of the liquor (for my own peculiar reasons, it is the one that sounds wimpy, though).

Elliot - my favorite, not too wimpy, and a pox on the people who think this can a girl name.  But if your DH hates it, it should be off the table.

Connor is my favorite, with Jameson second.

Evan - it's fine

Elliot - I don't like it, especially combined with William.  Too many "L" sounds; it doesn't flow IMO.

Evan is too close. Not a big fan of Jameson.

Connor and Elliott would both work nicely.

I think it is offensive that YH is describing names as wimpy. What if one of your sons is a 'wimp'? It shouldn't make YH love or respect him any less. Derogatory terms like this annoy the crap out of me.

Elliott is my favorite paired with Ian.

Evan is my favorite style wise.  I don't think it's too close to Ian.

Connor is just okay, but I don't love it with a similar last name to Kite.

I like Jameson and don't automatically think liquor.  I don't like Jameson William together though.

Evan - Is it too similar to big brother Ian? Nope, like it the best of all your names too.

Connor - Does this sound ok with a last name similar to "Kite"? No, I just don't like this name at all.

Jameson - Do you immediately think of the lliquor? Not my first thought, I prefer James though.

Elliot - My favorite, but hubby hates it. Do you think it's "wimpy"? I like it, but can see how some feel it is wimpy - I think of a thoughtful, introspective kid - not necessarily an athlete or go-getter (not that one is better than the other).

Evan--yes, too similar

Connor--too alliterative

Jameson--yes, the whiskey. And the porn star.

Elliot--if you DH doesn't like it, then it doesn't matter what I think.

I suggest using William as the FN.

Evan - Is it too similar to big brother Ian? - kind of

Elliot - My favorite, but hubby hates it. Do you think it's "wimpy"? - yes, I do think it's wimpy; that's actually the reason I'm deterred from using one of my favourite boy names; it just doesn't sound strong to me
