STM's Clothing from first DS for 2nd??

My first DS was born in December. I saved all of his clothes. I am due with my second DS in July. My brother and his wife are due in March w/ a boy. I was planning on giving them most of the NB clothes because they are meant for the winter season not summer. Now his 03 months clothing are for colder weather too. Do you think they would fit my DS for the fall? I know there is no way to predict the sizing of my baby. I just would rather my first DS's clothes not go to waste. Would you save all of the clothes and hope to use them or give some away?? Also do summer babies wear sleepers?
Sorry for all the rambling! TIA!!

If your SIL is due in March and you are due in July you could let her borrow some of the clothes because by the time her LO has out grown them, you will be ready for them again. Just let her know ahead of time that would like to use them again if you can.

Ditto what pp said, but yeah I'd for sure wait and see how big ds#2 is before giving anything away. If he's small or born a little early or anything, you could definitely use them.

You definitely could lend them and get them back, or at least some of them.  And I just spent a few minutes doing math bc I missed your ticker with your ds's age... Born in Dec. and due in July did not add up;)

Sorry for the confusion. I never did another ticker for my current pregnancy! My first DS was born 12/09 I'm due with my second DS 7/13.

We have A/C in the house, so I have a a feeling that I will reuse many items, even though LO #1 was born in October.

PPs had a good point with loaning instead of giving. It's kind of you to want to share with them! :o)

DD1 was born in December and I'm due with DD2 in June. DD1 stayed true to size and I think that I'm screwed until the 12-18m stuff since I have warm and cold weather things in that box. I can reuse bodysuits and a handful of outfits will work. I'd keep some things like that and give the rest away. It's hard to judge

When it comes to shirts, I bought a bunch of white long sleeve shirts that I would put short sleeve summer onsies on top of for the winter.  DS was in 9mo onesis from August to March so it saved us having to buy all new long sleeve shirts.  A few pairs of pants and baby legs and you'll probably be fine.

I would let her borrow the NB stuff. I've heard that summer babies still have to wear the long sleeve stuff. Just in cotton instead of fleece.

I had a June baby and then a Janurary baby. I re-used a lot of clothes, mostly sleepers at first. My second baby was a bigger baby though so she fit into bigger sizes sooner, like she was 3-5 months and fit into 6-9 months which was what my oldest was in the winter. I did still buy a lot og clothes at first because I wasnt sure on sizing. Now they are like 1 size apart and some things they are the same size. I still save my clothes from oldest and my youngest then usually can wear it at least part of whatever season the next year. I would save the clothes still or let your brother borrow but say you need them back .

Summer babies still wear sleepers. My DD1 wore them all the time in the summer when we where at home. We lived in my parents basement at the time so it was always cold plus having the A/C on made it too cold for her and she could regulate her temp to keep her from freezing.

I would give away most of the LS/fleece/sleepr outfits, unless you keep your home cool or go to places that are overly cool due to air conditioning.

I am running into the same problem too. My DD was born in March and DS was born in December and this one will be born in August. I still have some of their clothes, so I am just going to wait and see what I can use and what I can't.

Every baby is different with sizing.

DS was born in July and he wore sleepers all of the time.  With air conditioning, you would be surprised how chilly their little legs can get.  I would hold onto some.

My first was born in July and my second was January. We reused an awful lot. I used long sleeve sleepers all of the time in the summer, just not really heavy or fleece ones. You probably could loan everything and get it back in time.

I think it just depends on the sizing of your LOs. My DS was born in August and I had a friend whose DS was born in December (but several years before). She passed along her DS's clothes to me and we could only use about 1/2 of them and then only b/c it can still be hotter than hell in Louisiana during December. If we have another DS we'll have lucked out b/c this one is due in August as well so we'll be set for clothes.
