game prizes

Hello!  I usually post on Parenting but..... I have a shower question!

My friend and I are hosting a "She's about to POP" shower.  We are only doing one game because well, it goes with the theme. 

Anyhoo, what are some good prize ideas for the guests?

I was just at a shower this weekend and we had 2 games.  Both winners got a $25 Olive Garden Gift Card which I thought was pretty generous.  On top of that the hostesses gave away door prizes (things like candles, kitchen towels, etc) and everyone got a $5 giftcard to Target, Starbucks, or McDonalds as a favor.

For my BFF's shower, I had prizes like Turbie Twists, nice hand lotion, body wash and scrubby gloves, a live orchid in a pretty pot, and body balm. I love the idea of a gift certificate for Starbucks.

That is the most prizes I have seen given away at any shower!  I didn't expect a favor (there was candy on all the tables) and then door prizes on top of game prizes.  I actually won one of the games and then with the favor, I practically won the amount I spent on the gift! I think the gift card would be the way to go.  Not everyone likes lotions or candles and I think a restaurant or store that is pretty common would be nice for anyone and the most useful for the money you spend.  Plus its easy for you.

Gift cards are always appreciated by guests.  These can be made in any amount - depending what you want to spend on the prize.  You could make it to a movie theater and include an amount that would take care of concessions.  Or some places have dinner and movie...add some popcorn.

I never just have one game so I tend to keep my prizes on the smaller size.  I've done $5 gift cards to Starbucks, Dunkin donuts, and 5-$1 scratch off lottery tickets.  Everyone really likes the lottery tickets!

When I threw my friends shower, I did a small hand lotion and anti bacterial in an organza bag as one type of favor. Then another type of favor I did was bath beads with a small candle from bath and body works. Starbucks gift cards, target cards and the diaper raffle gifr was a twenty five dollar visa GC

since your theme is ready to pop. Any popcorn bags decorated nicely. or the ones that already come wrapped. its not as fancy as giftcards but I always go for the theme and something that relates to the party.

I think popcorn would make a better favor than a prize personally. I like the amazon gift cards, you can use them for anything.
