Shower time & day

My host is available to host my shower on a weekday, which I recommended it needs to be after 5 as all my guests work, or a Sunday before 2 or after 5. She has church commitments between 2-5.  In which case I thought Sunday brunchy shower 10:30 to 1:00 could work, I asked if she was fine hosting on sunday so early and she said it's fine. I reallize both times are not optimal. If you were invited which one you would rather go to? Weekday after 5, or Sunday morning (or evening).

Sunday 100% without question. Work nights are family time, busy, and exhausting. I'd probably decline.

SUnday morning hands down, but I'm not a church goer. I would expect people who go to church would have a problem with this.

Sunday after 5 would be preferable, though, over a weekday.

Oh yeah Sunday. I would skip church or catch the early service as a guest, but if I were invited after work I would be hard pressed to party after a full day.

Absolutely Sunday.

I think it can be done well, and I would have loved it, but taking all of the crappy parts of school away from a kid isn't good for them in the long run.

There are lessons like "Not everyone likes you" and "Some people are douche bags" that you don't learn without socializing in a large group of poorly supervised children.

1st choice: Sunday at 10:30 (but I'm not a Church goer)

2nd choice: Sunday after 5

3rd choice: weekday- this would be really difficult for me to manage with everything we do at night to prep for the next day....and even if people leave work at 5, it could still take them awhile to get to a shower...maybe 6 at the earliest, so you're looking at something that would be 6-8 or 9, then needing to go home and get ready for work the next day.  If you do this, maybe a Friday night would be best....

At first I thought right away who would do it on a weeknight? But then I remembered that my cousin did one on Wed night because the MTB was from out of town and her schedule worked that way. It was actually great. I think it ran from 7-9ish, so no dinner just veggies/fruit/cake maybe some other things. We basically had tea and cake and watched the MTB open the gifts. It was very relaxed, no games and was over rather quickly. It actually worked out great and it was late enough where you had time to get home from work and get dinner on and what not. It did help that the guest list was maybe 15.

Same for me.  Even when I'm not working, evenings on weekdays are really the only time we have during the day as family time.

In reference to the bold part, I DETEST when there is stuff scheduled on Friday nights.  I prefer to use it as a home movie night or something, or even just relaxing with DH knowing he doesn't have to go to work the next day.

Sunday definitely. I actually would prefer Sunday over Saturday. I'm not a church goer and neither would many of my guests though.

I wouldn't go at 5 on either day. (edit). If it was very close family I would go on a Sunday. I usually won't go to showers on a Sunday.

Mine was on a Sunday morning (I think at 11 so my catholic inlaws could go to mass first). It actually was awesome to have a brunch menu rather than the same old food.

Mine was at 11 on a Sunday. It seemed to work rather well. I don't have a lot of church going friends/family, but it still gave people the option to have an early Sunday morning, or a Sunday afternoon. We were pretty much done by 2.

Sunday for sure. Weekdays are just too hectic in my opinion. You get off work and what's the first thing you want to do usually...? Go home! lol So Sunday would be my vote but it's not my baby shower!

Good luck! and I hope you have a great baby shower

That definitely would not work for me.  I don't get home until after 6:30, so I would think 7 on a week night would be dinner.  That's pretty common in this area.  Plus, I'm usually in bed around 9-10.

I vote Sunday.

I'd decline a week night as well.  I already hardly have time to get done what I want to...

I went to a friends shower on a weeknight. At first I thought it was odd but after thought it was nice. We had dinner and it wasn't in the middle of a Saturday. It works better than you think.

Seems like majority is agreeing Sunday brunch is better, which I totally agree. I persoanlly would rather not do anything week night, so hate to expect others to come on weeknight.

Thanks for all your honest opinions.

Sunday in the morning. You might have people coming out of town and I have never seen a shower during a weekday. I travel for work and am usually tired if I am home. Weekday would probably not be an option for me.
