How/when will you announce?

I am 5 weeks now and the only people that know are DH and a close friend...I am dying to tell my family but really wanted to wait to my first appt. Thoughts?

We waited until 12 weeks with both and will do the same this time around as well, as much as we are able.

My thought is the same. There are some family members I want to tell after the doctor, but will wait for everyone else until 12 weeks.

Our immediate families know. I think we'll tell the grandma's after our first appt at 9.5 wks and everyone else at 12.

We'll call the grandmas and some friends, email others, and make a FB announcement.

We told a few friends and my MIL. We are waiting for about 16 weeks to announce. It will be our four year wedding anniversary so that should take it up a notch.

We've told everyone. We didn't wait with our son and decided not to with this baby either. We can't keep secrets well and I don't believe in the whole jinxing thing. We are just happy and want everyone to know :

I was thinking sometime past 10 weeks or as long as my SO can keep his excited mouth shut. That was before the U/S with just a sac and now we have to wait 5 more weeks till the next ultrasound is even booked! meaning it will be another 6-7 1/2 weeks till we have proof that there is a baby growing in there (I have had past miscarriages with growth stopping but the miscarriage not happening till several weeks later).

So it looks like sometime past week 12.

Parents and really close friends knew at 6 weeks. then after my first ultrasound EVERYONE got told.

The boyfriend told his family prior to my appointment. His mom had a few miscarriages so I'm sure they'd understand. I told two or three close close friends that I would trust with my life... and am terrified of telling my parents, definitely am waiting until after the 12 week mark for that one.

We waited until the first ultrasound last time (9-10 weeks?)  and my husband would like to do the same this time.  We put the ultrasound picture on my phone and took the family out to a restaurant and let them look at some pictures on my phone, when the ultrasound photo came up they were all surprised.

My sister called me this weekend and said she had a dream I was pregnant and we were waiting to tell everyone... that night I took the test and got a positive.  I kinda feel like I am lying to her because she was so spot on, but we live 4 hrs from her so it is easier to keep a secret- don't know if I could lie if we were face to face.

We told parents and our two siblings the day of our BFP. I wanted a support group in case anything happened. We told everyone else after our 2nd ultrasound at 8w5d.

We told our parents, our sisters and our bestfriends. Everyone else will find out when I post a picture of my two girls on the beach with their disney ears on and then a pair of ears sitting next to them with due in October or baby3 coming soon. I haven't thought too far into the wording yet but we are going to disney world over Easter so I want to use that to announce our third last baby!

DH and I told our parents and siblings at 5weeks. I figured if something happend then I would need their support.

I am waiting to tell the rest of the world (i.e. Facebook. strangers, etc.) until we are 12 weeks.

I think I'm going to wait until 12 weeks which coincidentally is April Fools Day to announce on Facebook.  I'm not sure yet how to do it by have been looking up ideas too on Pinterest and such.

We told our parents on Christmas, I was 5 weeks. Everyone else we waited until 13 weeks with a picture on facebook. It was a huge sign we found that said "Something awesome is coming" I stood underneath it with a hand on my stomach. I edited it with text that said "August 2013".  Over 80 people commented and only 1 person didn't get it :) It's so nice to be out! Our previous lost was 12 weeks which is why we waited until 13.

We haven't told anyone yet. I don't plan to for as long as I can keep it. I doubt I will plan any ideas until my second u/s at 10-11 weeks. (I had it all planed for Thanksgiving and the u/s showed an empty sac the week before).

I got a bfp at 6 weeks. My mother was there with me during a  weekend visit.  I told my father and sisters the next day. We told his immediate fam the following week and told my godmother and my aunt (matriarch of the fam) 1 week ago.  We're waiting for my 2nd u/s at 12.5 weeks ( 2 weeks from now) to announce to everyone else. This is torture!!!

I feel like my husband and I will never quite feel "safe" to announce to the world, after m/c in October at 13 weeks. I am currently 8w 4d. Our first u/s will be at 10 weeks, and I'm hoping my OBGYN will schedule another one at 13 weeks so we can get the peace of mind right around the time things fell apart last time. I know it's not logical to think 13 weeks is when everything will be either bad or all good this time. I know our odds are still 80% that this will result in a baby in our arms! It's still hard to enjoy it. Those of you who announce at 8 weeks, 10 weeks...I will always feel that is risky, but it is whatever you are comfortable with. Having support does help, but we hadn't told anyone but family last time and I obviously chose the people I knew would be supportive to tell. My husband was glad everyone in town/on FB didn't know about our loss.

We're telling the family this weekend at DS's birthday party by having DD wear a big sister shirt.  We'll see how long it takes someone to notice that the little sister has a big sister shirt on.  I will be 8.5 weeks.  I have already had my first ultrasound and heartbeat was great so we're comfortable telling family.  Honestly, I had a miscarriage with my first pregnancy before family knew I was pregnant but we still had to tell them because of how it all happened, so we would tell them either way.  I will probably hold off at work until 1st tri is over.

This is our second baby so we weren't as cautious as the first but we only told close family and friends in the beginning and then  just the other day after my 12 week appointment we announced it on Facebook.

We haven't told anyone IRL. We'll tell family and then close friends after our first appt (10.5 wks), and then work/other friends/extended family after 12 weeks and we'll "go public" after that.
