Shg is still fri, start bcps today, lupron 3/10, stims 3/23. Er first week of april.

3/27 Began working with Reproductive Immunologist Dr. Kwak-Kim. Found High NK cells, High DHEAs, slight hypothyroidism, tendency toward blood clots (High PAI-1)Began synthroid & metformin 4/19.

I had my IUI on 2/16. Went okay except Sperm count was lower than normal and my DH is borderline low anyways. They said post wash was borderline on what they like to see since the motility was still good. DH had the flu last week so not sure how that affected things! So I am in the 2WW again....

Qotw sorry, I can't provide any feedback. I am still in the early stages of treatment and have not gone through an IVF yet. If this cycle and the next fail my RE will start having those discussions with us.

Hi all- beta is scheduled for Monday, 2/25.  Still debating whether or not to POAS the day before.  scared of the answer.  Not feeling any symptoms (aside from wonderful PIO constipation).  Not even that tired.  My p4 was greater than 40 7dpER and estrogen was 1200 + .  Hoping that the little beans are sticking in deep and the beta will be a wonderfully happy day. :)

QOTW:  This is my first IVF and was put on Microdose Flare protocol.  I took 10iu of Lupron 2x daily, 150 iu follistim 2x daily and 150 menopur 1x daily.  My previous IUI's were from femara and follistim (75 iu and 150 iu).  My p4 7dpiui was always under 12 even with Endometrin.  I'm hoping that the progesterone support and the fact that the eggs were already fertilized and all they have to do is implant will work in my favor this time!

Me (37) DH (39); Finally correctly diagnosed with DOR in 2012; Started TTC 2009; RE 2009/2010- RE cycle #1 clomid+ ovidrel + TI = BFN; RE cycle #2 clomid + ovidrel + TI=BFN; RE cycle #3 femara + ovidrel + IUI= BFN; RE cycle #4 75iu follistim + ovidrel + IUI= BFN; RE cycle #5 150iu follistim + ovidrel + IUI = BFN ; Took a break and had Weight loss surgery in 2011, back to new RE in 2012 ; AMH 0.43 IVF #1 /ICSI and AH; MDL protocol - ER 2/11 5R, 3M, 2F Three day transfer of 8 cell grade 3 and 8 cell grade 2 embryos. BFN. RPL testing shows homo MTHFR and hetero PAI-1. IVF #2 antagonist-ER 5/14 8R 6M 5F. Three day transfer of 3 embies. 6 cell grade 3, 4 cell grade 2, 5 cell grade 3. Beta #1 at 11dp3dt is 190, Beta #2 at 13dp3dt is 363. U/S scheduled for June 13. In shock and so very hopeful. U/S showed 2 heartbeats in same placenta measuring 113 and 115 bpm. Hi everyone :) I started gonal-f injections on Saturday (300iu)  and go today for bloodwork. I'm guessing IUI will probably be early next week. Praying for a healthy egg!!

QOTW: I have not begun IVF yet, but will probably start a cycle in a month or two. My doctor said we will be doing a microdose flare protocol. Not sure if that is low stim or not.

Hi ladies,

I'm waiting on my 2nd beta results but I have a feeling I'll be chalking this one up to a chemical pregnancy.

No clue what we'll do next, I'm giving it to my husband to sort out with the RE, I don't want to deal with any of it.

QOTW: I did some medicated cycles (timed intercourse) with femara, does that count as low-dose?

No updates with us still.  We are still saving and looking into different financing options.  I'm getting nervous for our upcoming urology appointment again.  I really hope DH's illness isn't going to affect the results of his SA.

I have no experience with IVF yet but I'll be looking to see what other's have answered.

Betas continued to rise and I had first u/s (5w2d) on Monday -- it's twins!  Not a complete shocker based on my crazy high betas, but definitely a mix of emotions. Unlike our last ill-fated BFP, the gestational sac and yolk sac for both are measuring right on target. Hoping to see heartbeats at next Friday's (3/1) u/s, since this one was so early. Still very nervous, but more cautiously excited than ever before.

QOTW:  I've only ever done IVFs due to DH's azoo.  My prior 3 IVF attempts have all used high dose stims.  This one, with new RE, was low dose and gave us our best response ever. Details:

IVF #1: Antagonist (600IU follistim) = cancelled after 8 days of stims d/t poor response

IVF #1.2: Microdose Lupron Flare (600IU follistim) = 4 eggs retrieved, 4 eggs mature, 1 egg fertilized; wonky betas, but BFP (saw heartbeat, missed m/c discovered at 9w0d - chromosomal abnormality)

IVF #2: Estrogen Priming + Microdose Lupron Flare (600IU follistim) = 7 eggs retrieved, 2 eggs mature, 1 egg fertilized; BFN

IVF #3: Antagonist (150IU follistim, eventually bumped to 225IU follistim, added in 75IU Menopur after several days, ganirelix) = 5 eggs retrieved (additional mature follicles on right, but right ovary couldn't be accessed, so may have been more), 5 eggs mature, 4 eggs fertilized; BFP
TTC since honeymoon in 9/2010
Me: 38, Dx DOR (FSH = 10.5, AMH = 0.43, best AFC = 10), AMA
MH: 37, Dx Obstructive Azoospermia, multiple successful sperm retrieval procedures

1/2012: IVF/ICSI #1 Antagonist = cancelled d/t poor response to max stims
2/2012: IVF/ICSI #2 MDLF (4R, 4M, 1F) = BFP, saw heartbeat, missed m/c 9w0d, D&E
8/2012: IVF/ICSI #3 EPP/MDLF (7R, 2M, 1F) = BFN

Update:  My phone consult with ccrm is March 7th.  I'm very nervous and excited at the same time!

QOTW-Please describe any protocols you’ve done with low-dose stims and how you responded to them:  IVF 1:  I was on SIRM's Agonist/antagonist with Estrogen Priming protocol (variation of other EPP). "With this protocol variation, the woman receives twice weekly intramuscular injections of estradiol valerate (Delestrogen) and/or vaginal estradiol suppositories beginning about1 week before commencing COS with gonadotropins. This is continued until at least 50% of the follicles reach 14mm in diameter, whereupon it is stopped."  I was on high dose stims which yielded Two eggs, both fert and transferred=BFN

IVF 2.1:  Antagonist with EPP.  Low dose stims= I did not respond-Canceled

IVF 2.1:  They did not use Lupron or ganirellex and stimmed me like an iui with low dose stims- 1 egg retrieved=immature/non-viable

IVF 3:  Same protocol as the first with highest stims possible- two eggs retrieved, one mature, fert, and transferred a 6 day expanded blast= C/P

Philly: I hope the 2ww flies for you. Good luck!

Jezabel: Monday will be here before you know it. Hang in there! By the way, I had such severe constipation starting 6 days after starting PIO. I almost thought I'd end up in the ER (I even wrote a blog post about it lol.) Someone suggested taking 100mg of colace every night. I checked with my RE and they approved and it has made a HUGE difference. Good luck with your beta!

Katie: I hope that your bloodwork comes back great and you get a fantastic egg.

Boots: I'm praying so hard that your second beta has shot way up. So many hugs coming your way.

Labs: I hope you find exactly what you need to get going on an IVF cycle. And I hope things starting looking up with DHs SA.

Joules: SO THRILLED FOR YOU! How exciting! I can't wait to hear your update at the next u/s.

 AFM: My beta is Friday and I'm having a hard time waiting. I've been getting BFPs every morning on wondfos, frers, and digis so I am hoping I have a strong number.

QOTW: I only did one protocol and my ovaries basically did nothing. Absolutely nothing. It was MDLupron and I was on 450gonal and 150 menopur intramusculaly. My lining shrunk and my ovaries just sat there doing squat. I wish I could help more with info, but I was a lost cause.

ETA: Sorry, I misread the QOTD. I've never done low dose. We started out at max dose due to my undetectable AMH.

4/23/13 - Matched to adopt five new embryos!

Betas all rose with a doubling time of roughly 28 hours... First u/s was originally scheduled for Monday 2/25... But my anxiety level has gone through the roof so I moved it up to tomorrow.  I'll be 6 weeks 3 days.  Praying my Lone Star is measuring on track with a strong heart beat!

QOTW:  I've only done MDLFP & EPP with high doses of stims.  Never done low dose stims.  Good luck to all!

It's been awhile since I've checked in but we are ready to jump on to the ivf wagon again.

status update:   We decided to change clinics and give ivf another go.  I'm really hestitant to get things started again but with MH's low numbers I'm guessing we are wasting our time at home trying. 

QOTW:  I've done two low stims.  The first I started gonalf on cd 5 and used 125 a day, then later upped it to 225.  Added Menopur when I was instructed to start Ganirelix.  Used estrace & progesterone in the 2ww.  The second IVF my fsh was high on day 2 so I didn't start stims until cd 7 (my instructions were to wait until cd 9 but I was afraid of a lead),  Same amount meds otherwise.  Unfortunately my OOTmonitoring measured incorrectly and I was triggered to early.  We got 4 eggs but only two were mature enough to fertilize (they were a 16 & 14 morning of ER).  We put back two, a beautiful 8 cell and a 5 cell, bfn.

Hi all,

I intro'd last week but have not posted yet.  Can I join the check-in?

Quick background: 31 years old and TTC since August 2011.  Diagnosed with DOR in October 2012 (AMH .14).  DH has lowish morphology but all great counts otherwise.  I am currently in 2ww of my second IUI (double dose Menopur injects with trigger.)  I had 3 good size follies for both IUI cycles.  Plan is either one more IUI or straight to IVF.  I have an appointment with the doctor next week.

Thanks for welcoming me here!  Good luck to all those in waiting and hugs to all who need it.

We had our first ultrasound yesterday and we are having twins! We are excited but also still in disbelief. Both babies are measuring right on track and had strong heartbeats. We are very cautiously optimistic. We will go back for another ultrasound in two weeks. We've made it to 11 weeks before, so I do not feel like we are out of the woods yet.

I have not done a low-dose protocol. I did a Micro-dose lupron cycle but was on 300 iu of follistim both am and pm. 

Me: 33, Hypothalamic Amenorrhea, DOR (AMH .35), DH: 38, Borderline low morph
5/09- Off BCP, 5/09-9/09- No period, 9/09-9/10- Lots of Tests & accupuncture
10/10 and 11/10- 2 rounds of Menopur + TI= BFNS
12/10-IUI #1 Menopur = BFN
1/11- IUI #2 Menopur = BFP, 2/11 missed mc at 9 weeks, D&C
5/11- Operative Hysteroscopy to remove uterine septum
6/11- IUI #3 Menopur = BFP, 8/11 missed mc at 11 weeks, D&C
1/12- Lap and Operative Hysteroscopy to remove uterine septum (again) & scar tissue
2/12- Stint Removal, 3/12 repeat SHG and HSG- showed scar tissue blocking right tube
4/12- Operative hysteroscopy (again), RE said he can now see right tube (yay!)
5/12- Stint removal, 6/12 repeat SHG and HSG-both tubes are open!
8/12- IUI #4 Bravelle = BFN
9/12-IUI #5 Bravelle = BFN
1/13- IVF #1, micro-flare protocol, 7R, 6F, 5dt of 2 AA embryos, 1 to freeze = BFP
Beta #1: 176, Beta #2: 422, EDD 10/8/13- it's TWINS!

Hi I'd like to join this group.

 Having trouble updating my siggy, but I'm DOR, highest FSH 24, lowered to 14.6 last day 3 bloodwork (hoping that could be a good sign even tho RE says heck no - in thier own words of course) AFC is 1.  Currently on my 2nd IUI after 150mg of Clomid.  Pregnancy test is Monday, I'm on progesterone supplements and injections.  I have lesss than 5% chance of pregnancy but I'm not quite ready to give up on my body yet, although I'm starting to move slightly towards considering DE.
Me:33 TTC since 2008 Feb08: ruptured Ectopic(surgically removed right tube and ovary) Oct12: Began seeing a Fertility Doctor Dx:Anovulation, Provera to force period, clomid 50mg, Day 12 ultrasound showed no follicles/no ovulation. Dec12: Day 3 Antral Follicle Count; ONE, FSH also jumped from 8.4 to 24, increased clomid dosage to 150mg

I think that I will be joining you ladies. I have been TTC for almost 3 years, and last week was the first time a doctor has commented on my AMH. I am 26 years old with an AMH of 1.1. I am not exactly sure what to expect at this point. We are starting an IVF/ICSI cycle towards the end of March due to moderate MFI, and now I'm not sure if this recent discovery of low AMH is going to change my protocol. We were originally going to do a plan of 1 fresh and 2 frozen cycles, but with 1.1, should I be concerned that I might not produce enough eggs for frozen transfers?

 

QOTW: I haven't done anything yet and still trying to learn what's going on with my body. Mom went through menopause at 39, grandmother at 36 years old. You think this would have been information they would have wanted to share knowing our IF struggles? Sheesh!

December, 2012 IUI #3- DH counts 9mil post was day 1, 12mil day 2... Results: BFN and moving to IVF.
January, 2013- IVF consult, new AMH 1.1, update SIS ALL CLEAR and going to be an May Emerald!!
May, 2013 ER on 5/2- 16 eggs retrieved, 11 fertilized! Tentative ET- 5/7! Excited and extremely bloated!

Update: Monitoring appointment is tomorrow, IUI #2 will likely be on Saturday. Fragile X testing came back normal.

Hi fellow DOR ladies, 

I just had my first IUI on the 18th and I'm currently over-analyzing every little twitch in my body and I'm fairly certain I'm giving myself UTE pains with my own brain

We have an appointment with my RE on Friday to go over my results.  I'm sure he is going to pitch me IVF.  We'll see if he jumps right to DE as well. We don't have any infertility insurance so I'm looking into how I can pay for all this (clearly I'm not to hopeful about my IUI cycles).  I'm trying to sell my fully paid off car and buy/finance a new one.  

We just got the diagnosis 2 weeks ago and I'm the definition of a "hot mess".  I cry all the time, I feel like a zombie walking around in an alternate universe... you ladies know how it is.  I'm really hoping I start to feel normal once we have a plan. 

QOTW: I have no experience here but I'm really interested in the answers.

Hi everyone,

 

I'm in the 2ww after IUI #5 ( supposed to be iVf 1.2). I tested for the trigger for the past 2 days and it is almost out. I am trying to be super hopeful about this. However I am also looking into clinics that specialize in DOR because I do not want to keep getting cancelled.

 

Great question! I was wondering about low dose stims. Does anyone know the advantage? My first two attempts at IVF with with normal and then high (600iu doses). Also did anyone's RE explain the advantage of having stims twice a day? Mine didn't mention this but I'm on the fence as to whether I am keeping him anyways- not sure he knows much about DOR.

So happy to hear everyone else's good news- gives me hope :)

Update: nothing new, just waiting for my lining check on Friday. I am nervous because I fly out to my clinic and we're getting ready for a major snowstorm. Ugh! I hope my flight doesn't get delayed or cancelled. 

QOTW: I never did IVF with my OE. I did many IUIs however, all with little or no stims. My RE used my naturally high FSH to our advantage so I always "responded" well - just never caught that magic egg I guess.

And to all of us waiting to cycle ... Hopefully time will fly by!

As for me still waiting I thought feb would go so slow but I've stayed super busy and it has really helped. I'm taking my folic acid and coq10 and DHEA and baby asprin like clockwork. Back to working out regularly and doing my herbalife shakes have me feeling good. About three more weeks and I start BCP. Finally!! April first I start my androderm patches and then lupron.
Qotw I tried the long lupron the first time and only got three eggs two of which fertilized and the mini stim IVF we tried last October was a epic fail. 100mg if clomid for five days and has zero follicles. So never got far enough to do my ganarelix shots or Hcg shot or gonal f so needless to say I have some leftovers from that cycle I can use on this April one.

Recently been diagnosed with DOR, and will start injections and IUI next month. Been taking DHEA and CoQ 10 for the last 2 months. Still a little in shock, but trying to stay calm and positive.
